Yeah I read your 2 posts in the DS3 thread, that sucks. I've only played most of 1 but I did find it pretty creepy (I'm a wuss with horror) and I don't see why companies have to change the part that's good about their games.

I played 5 and 6, I thought 5 was pretty good even though it wasn't the zombie survival horror I was expecting from a RE game.

I guess they wanted dead space to reach a new audience.

1 and 2 are scary stuff, 2 deals with a lot of psychological horror.


Dark Souls 2 is at risk of what dead space has become, and RE. I'm scared for the game and it's months until it's out. I bring this up because the developers want to open Dark Souls up to a wider audience, aka the type that don't enjoy being punished for making a mistake.

I chose the most difficult mode in dead space and I can take 5...6 hits. It will get harder, but atm med packs are raining down on me, and I only died once and I suck at games like dead space.

Just... I'm so disappointed in it ~.~ people who have finished it said it doesn't get any better and that just makes me sad.

Basically Dead Space 3 is a lot more action and almost no horror. The jump scares are very very very predictable now.

I'm not saying that because I played dead space before, I say that because they make it very obvious when it's going to happen.

Psychological is always scarier than jump scares. I hated hearing them crawl around in the air ducts because I never knew when they'd pop out

RE 5 and 6 really aren't that much different from eachother. 4/5/6 are definitely different from the series as a whole, but the two? Not really.

Also, games are becoming easier and easier to play. I wouldn't let the things like med packs raining surprise me.

And the horror genre took another blow.

I think Fatal Frame/Project Zero is the only series that's kept its formula mostly the same. Mind, iirc, the newest Wii one has huge button prompts on screen that break immersion, so...

Maybe the Forbidden Siren series too. I haven't really seen any of it, despite the fact it is being made by the guy who created Silent Hill.

If so, what the hell should I do?

DD has been all I wanted to do lately but it just seems like a long road before I'm able to do anything with that. The main draw of the game for me is getting with a group and having fun doing things together, but last I was on I'd just get "LEVEL NIN AND DUO IT" ***. Urgh.

If you like DD then level DD. leveling a Job is a lot like picking out a boyfriend/girlfriend: don't go by someone else's qualifications or advice coz in the end if it doesn't fit because you picked out something someone else would want, your just going to want to kill it. Dead.
I did notice a lot of people rocking the puppet master lately though.

Not gunna lie, the same was going on with my Red Mage years ago when having it leveled chained me on it forever. Just need to shout in Jeuno until someone's willing to help an old DRG get his AF3.

Maybe I'll server hop or just plain start over... Not like it'll take more than a month to get all my levels back. Sounds loads cheaper that way, in fact.

Better than logging onto a server with nobody I remember around and me wondering: "WELL WHAT NOW?"

Edit: Patching. 11 hours. I have plenty of time to think about it.

Social gaming, LAN parties.

Me and two-three other friends would go over to another friend's house and play League of Legends together, for example.

So much better than voice chat. Usually came with pizza and drinks.
