This ep was pathetic. Jaime raping his sister is dumb, it doesn't happen in the books, and its an unnecessary change that has basically butchered Jaime's whole character in the show. I'm watching this show now as if its expensive fanfiction.

Anyway the lolrape scene makes sense if you ask me. It's still undeniably wretched, but considering Jamie's obsession with Cersi and complete lack of any attachment to his children it wasn't out of character at all. Umm maybe it's been a while but as far as i recall Jaime and Cercie did in fact have sex during Joffrey's wake. The only notable difference is that she kept saying "No" but in the books she wanted the d.
You have to remember that this is the turning point for her character. That's as much as I can say without spoilers, I guess.
Well even in that scene there was a moment when she jumped on him briefly then returned to protesting.

Even though he wasn't exactly true to the description in the books, I miss the old Daario Naharis. He sounded like a Khajiit from Skyrim, then again, so did Jaqen and Syrio.
I do find it offputting when they do a recast of a character that is presented towards the end of a season. 'Cause the next season there is that who the hell is this person moment. Luckily some people keep tabs on it to minimize confusion.
I like this Daario a lot more. That other one was too neat, while Daario is actually very rude and 'manly' so to speak.

I thought it was really good, after the hit-and-mostly-miss episode before.
I'm not a book snob though, but on some level I sympathize with those who adhere to the written incarnation of the tale. Even if Game of Thrones was demonstrated to be objectively superior in every way A Song of Ice and Fire, the fact that the show predisposes certain images in one's imagination kind of robs you of the magic of "Shared Creation" that a really good book has. Though the show wouldn't be (and isn't) the only source of predisposition, it's certainly the most obvious.
It's kind of like the old Beowulf exercise if you're familiar with that. Read Beowulf and draw Grendle. Nobody's looks the same. (inb4 shitty CGI movie)

Haven't had an episode this dull since Season 2. Bad by Game of Thrones Standards, Amazing by Rest-of-Television standards.
So it looks like 3 bad eps in a row. I was expecting nothing this week based on the screenshots.
Don't know what your criteria is for bad. I thought Oathkeeper (Previous) was really good.
