Galileo was a total liar, bro.

I always though Catholics were the hardcore ones and Protestants were the lessor bunch.
That's often true; there are many Protestant groups who are very reasonable in their interpretation of Scripture (especially in the scholarly circles--Professors of Theology tend to be fairly "liberal").
I think you're confusing the Reformation as a whole with the shift of England, as a state, from being officially Catholic to officially Protestant. This did occur because the Pope wouldn't allow the king to divorce his wife; so, he basically made his own Protestant church that would let him do it--The Church of England (known as the Anglican Church in the U.S.).

Lol =P Just so ya know (and you may be aware of this), when people pick on religions, they go after the groups that are the craziest. So, keep in mind that when people (especially people who want to make you laugh) make a religion sound totally nutty, it's probably an exaggeration based on the worst of the bunch and doesn't really apply to most people who hold the faith.

Well I baptised Roman Catholic but I don't agree with a lot of their doctrines, I won't denounce it because I still prefer it to being Protestant/Methodist.

The old I was raised as this routine egh?
If you do not agree with a lot of the doctrines then why claim to be a catholic?

There are only three religions in the world didn't you know? You are so *** stupid and ignorant....
1. I was baptised Roman Catholic, I never attended Church my entire life and I only accepted God about 2 years ago, completely irrelevant to how I was baptised and I was not raised religious.
I only pointed out that I was Catholic there to see your reaction, I don't claim to be Catholic elsewhere, but a Christian as I believe denominations are silly.
No, there are not 3 religions but those are the 3 I would consider to be active, true CHRISTIAN religions in England, Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons are not Christian by the definition of it. Evangelism is also not my cup of tea, say one prayer and simply believe and you will enter Heaven? No.

The old age is clearly relevant especially in a religious topic routine, egh? No, I'm just actually genuinely really curious, wondering if anyone here is old-ish. I'm 23, you?

I wish someone's faith could just be a personal choice that doesn't need to be ridiculed or shouted from the rooftops by people from both sides.
People seem to mix up faith and religion, because they wanna seem cool (or something) saying religion is bad. Like we didn't already know that.

I am saying you only would identify with it and not change it even if you do not agree with most of it because you were raised as such. By raised I mean you were made that at a young age regardless of if you ever were brought to church or what ever religious nonsense. That does not make me *** stupid or ignorant, it makes you a dope for not understanding. You would never identify with it if you were never baptized as one. Do you understand the words coming out of my fingers now?

Oh, so you can consider certain denominations that believe in the same god as you not true christians huh?
What the *** is this by the definition of it ***?

What the *** are you talking about? I was raised as NOTHING, my parents are not active Christians. Given the choice to get baptised I would be an Orthodox Christian (not sure if you can even get that done in England) which is extremely similar to Catholicism, followed by Catholicism yes, and I would have got baptised as one. Do you *** understand? Inb4 you are telling me what decisions I would and would not have taken in my life, moron.

I was using the definition of Christianity as "One who believes Jesus Christ is their Lord and Saviour" which I do believe is a more accurate definition by theologians, Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons DO NOT BELIEVE THIS, so they are not Christians, no. Theists of the Abrahamic religion? Yes.
Rage more *** head.

Oh and also Islam, if you wanna get technical, they believe IN THE SAME GOD AS JEWS AND CHRISTIANS and Jesus is a prophet of God, but not our Lord and Saviour, therefore they are not Christians.
Tell me Muslims are Christians, PLEASE, you dipshit.

Actually Muslims believe that Mohammad is the last prophet of god and that Moses and Jesus were merely interpreting the words of god, whereas god spoke directly through Mohammad.
That's how it was explained to me anyways.

You knew this was coming...
Article
Quote: God's mind was behind complex scientific theories such as the Big Bang, and Christians should reject the idea that the universe came into being by accident, Pope Benedict said on Thursday.
"The universe is not the result of chance, as some would want to make us believe," Benedict said on the day Christians mark the Epiphany, the day the Bible says the three kings reached the site where Jesus was born by following a star.
"Contemplating it (the universe) we are invited to read something profound into it: the wisdom of the creator, the inexhaustible creativity of God," he said in a sermon to some 10,000 people in St Peter's Basilica on the feast day.
While the pope has spoken before about evolution, he has rarely delved back in time to discuss specific concepts such as the Big Bang, which scientists believe led to the formation of the universe some 13.7 billion years ago. Now what I find most interesting in the article was this tidbit at the end:
Quote: The Catholic Church no longer teaches creationism -- the belief that God created the world in six days as described in the Bible -- and says that the account in the book of Genesis is an allegory for the way God created the world.
But it objects to using evolution to back an atheist philosophy that denies God's existence or any divine role in creation. It also objects to using Genesis as a scientific text.
(Allegory: a symbolical narrative)
Discuss.
