Similar to above mentioned pet peeve, another thing that grinds my gears is Bards and Red Mages that feel that because of their high demand in merit parties feel the need to act like God and treat everyone as inferior and that they can get away with virtually anything including but not limited to:

Going AFK for prolonged periods thinking they won't be replaced
Belittling others with condescending attitude
Complaining about exp despite being at least 15k+/hr
Leaving the party for virtually no good reason other than to look for a "better" one
Refusing to join a party because of a particular job they don't want to pt with
etc. etc. etc.

Well said, Art.
People like that just suck. No one is above anyone in this game, so players like that need to get their thumbs out of their ***.

;; you anti- /p-macro people would hate me. I got scolded a couple times for not saying I was recasting shadows or whatnot, and died a couple times because apparently seeing a rng try to cast shadows in a party while getting the smack-down laid on her is not enough of a hint for a war or pld to provoke and/or cover. So now every time I use a weapon skill I have it macro'ed in to say so, every time I use barrage (since that's what used to get me killed all the time. I'm barraging, PLEASE get your trigger finger on your Provoke!!) and I say if I am using Warcry on my war, as well, in case any party members are getting close to having full tp and want to ws after I put warcry up. But I try not to have dull, bland, and boring /p- macros. Like my Sidewinder macro, it's something to the effect of 'Rawr! I sidewinder in your general direction, <t>! <tp>.' Not really amusing after the first time you see it, but at least not boring. And if I am getting swatted trying to put up shadows, my macro says something along the lines of 'Casting spell Utemswhatever, Somebody distract it!' As a kind of nice way to say seriously, I am not a tank, get it off me. But no, I don't let the entire party/alliance/world know every single time I put up Hasso, Third Eye, Velocity Shot, stuff like that, that doesn't have anything to do with anyone else but me.

When a linkshell named ZULU uses a bot to claim HNM's ( some people call this bot NASA which costs $3000) becuase they have no skill also they purchased their accounts. Also how you can be a PLD with Aguis and fail so miserably to tank one lil horse. Also wipe to Sandworm before he doomvoids you inside of him.

This is what grinds my gears:

When you are on BLM75 or any job really, and not even seeking; you are confronted with a tell from some noob blm to manaburn puddings, you say ok, no prob since you can basically murder a pudding in 2 nukes. You are expecting a nice laidback exp session a welcome break from bard whoring merits... so you roll out as blm cuz that's all blm is good for.. is those chillin nights that you don't want to do much, it definitely isn't fast exp.. easy but not fast.

You get to camp and this *** who is /anon level synchs the party to 73 or something weak like that without telling you, thus omitting all of your wonderful merits which took you so long to cap, some of your gear and stripping you of burst 2, freeze 2, thunder IV and blizzard IV.

Then when you complain about this and how it completely gimps you just so that he can get a couple more exp/kill the noob says "well i want exp and it doesn't gimp YOU that bad"

I promptly disbanded and proceeded to go solo. *** random lvl 70+ invites that don't mention they want to level synch when they send a tell. THAT grinds my gears. Why synch up at 70+ anyway, when you can leech off of 75's you get much much faster exp..

This is true. Having 75s to up the kill frequency and overall performance is far greater than having everyone gimped down to lower the division of exp. The exp isn't even that bad for those leeching off higher levels.

I recall this anon RDM that invited me into a merit party. Was going great, we were all earning roughly 13k xp/hr when suddenly the RDM dingged level 68. Everyone just kinda went O.o but didn't leave or complain since the exp was pretty good anyways.

When I'm leveling PLD and some guy brings a PL and tells me not to provoke off it. I'm a PLD. I want to provoke. If I didn't, I would level something else. :/

I think i will level PLD one day if i get a PL i will just sit back and go into cruse control :D

One thing that gets me mad is when you D/C and log back in but can't because you are confronted with a "same player already logged in" BS normally when you D/C and your doing something your rushing back in GRRRRRR !

As if level sync doesn't make it hard enough to cap skills as it is, pld not getting to tank is going to gimp your shield skill pretty bad. I levelled pld to 37 recently, but I made sure that once my shield skill was uncapped I made all my own parties with me as the lowest member ^^

What really pisses me off is when you're in the middle of something difficult, like tanking a high level monster, soloing something, soloing Puddings, whatever whatever. Then your net dies or your connection with Play Online is severed for whatever reason. Your character basically just sits there for a minute getting the ***beaten out of them with no way whatsoever to defend themselves. I get particularly pissed off when you log back in dead and because they decided to be complete tools when coding buff memory, your reraise has disappeared. This means you either have to bite the bullet and home point, all at the same time as cursing for disconnecting, cursing for losing experience, cursing for potentially losing claim on your notorious monster, and cursing because you'd just capped buffer earlier that day.

This post was inspired by watching a RDM/NIN disconnect whilst soloing Bune.

My net has been particularly ***of late, I died 3 times in 2 days solo-ing sandy missions. I had my friends character on whm for transport and raise, and at one stage I said to myself, right, at least if I dc this time I can cure myself with the other character... waaaaaait...

Gear grinder!
-Not being alive after Besieged.
-Someone is soloing a Fiendish Leechkeeper, you go over to attack, get hate, and they run away after another one to solo. Not that mad since I can solo them, but it is rather pathetic how much someone wants one mob to theirself.
-Saving up for that one weapon, finally get the gil, just to check FFXI that the last one sold 5min ago. (Demon Slayer I will get you, just wait. >:o)

How am I suppose to pause the Internet... Why didn't this stuff need done when I was bored out of my mind 3 hours earlier...

BLMs(who have Retrace) and shout for retrace in WG/Jeuno.

With that in mind, people who shout for retrace. . .It's uuber freaking easy to get to. Get to WG, warp to home nation, run outside, use the Maw, and then BAM! You're there. Not much walking because all those spots it warps you are very close to the next warp. What ~10-15min is time you can't waste?

I mean you're either in Jeuno/WG anyways. If you in jeuno it'll cost 300gil to get to jeuno. then get the imp. silver piece warp to home nation and run. . .yeeeeah, thats really hard and time consuming.

Honestly, if someone told me all you just said, I'd resume shouting for a Retrace. xD

Haha, I wouldn't have the guts to /sh and tell youse to stfu >_> Unless I was having a bad day. . .Heh. But yeah >_> I'm not mean, I do b*itch on my linkshell or find something to take my mind off it.

Another one, Paladins and Ninjas that do gear swaps that blink and when a healer complains they can't target them they tell them to get the BlinkMeNot plugin, and if they don't play on PC then they tell them to buy a new PC.

I believe in the latest update SE released a new <stpc> thingy or w/e that would allow you to continue to have PlayerX targeted even during gear swaps. I think the syntax thing is <stpt> or something like that.

Alright pal, if you dislike it, draw me one! Make it Mithra 7b and have her either a Ninja, Corsair or Red Mage.

I'm looking forward to it! No Paint jobs, by the way, I have to use it!

And if you don't want to draw me one, then that's too bad =) Hohoho.

And if you are, stalk someone else; Shantotto can make things pretty hot if she catches you (which she will, she's got creepy dolls to watch for her).
