I have lived in salt lake for the past 10 years, and I'm glad this is over. as far as the electric chair, Utah is one of the only states in the union that still has death by firing squad.

He is one of billions of people that have this life and God wrong, and you all are one of them. So since all sin is the same your the same as this guy. Wow! You're so edgy! I thought of giving it a more dignified response, but there's no good reason to try to bring logic to the table with somebody this far gone... Seriously? rape =/= jacking off, no matter what some *** of a god says. I didn't say to kill the guy as a penalty, but for research... and yeah, some people just don't have survival instincts. btw, get my name right for once, please Killing in the name of science is OK? You do realize that a lot of people use the god argument to try and make it look like they are insane.
It could be possible that he believes god talked to him, but odds are he was just using that as an excuse to get away with it. Quetzalcoatl.Buckeyespud

All the guns but one are loaded with blanks, so only one gun has the real bullet. Lakshmi.Aurilius said: The problem is that this guy blamed god so you all say he's a religious nutcase. The Salt Lake valley is as bad as living in South East Idaho. Nothing to be proud of, even if you are Mormon. Bahamut.Zorander said: Quote: 1. While it has its downsides, if you are an outdoorsman/hunter/skier there are few better places to live in the U.S. Utah is an awesome place to live..Great Spring/Summer/Fall and Winter.
I can get to some of the best Snow in the world and its a 30 min drive from Salt Lake. Sure it can be boring here but that can go for anywhere. It's relatively cheap to live here..there is great Golf, Fishing, Hunting, Golf, Skiing/Snowboarding, camping, Hiking, boating, golf, and basically any other outside activity. Oh ***did I mention golf?!? Plus its a relaxed place and a good place to a family/kids (mock away I have 2) When I was younger I didnt like living here but I love it now. And I will say that the fly fishing was great down in South East Idaho compared to Northern Idaho where I live now. And I also loved going to Targhee to snowboard ever winter compaired to Schweitzer Mnt. But I didn't like that ever job interview in Idaho Falls I ever had involved the question of what ward I am in. Religious practice has nothing to do with work eligibility. Sylph.Biginallways

Hey Jet, do you know how much money it costs to house a prisoner on a yearly basis? If you did, you might change your mind about the death penalty. There's nothing barbaric about it. Death is a natural part of life. Rape is barbaric, torture is barbaric. If you're an agnostic, at least try to act like one.
$25k either per day or per month to keep a death row inmate alive. And they stay alive for 10+ years due to the numerous appeals they file.

I hear you. not a whole lot of work opportunities in I.F if you don't grow potatoes or work at the nuclear plant. I never saw the point in wanting executions.. I mean, maybe if they were some of the more inventive executions from antiquity (one of my favorites is they would hang you up side down by your feet and start sawing you from groin all the way down)
If you really want to make someone suffer/pay for what they did, you give them life without the possibility of parole.. Prison can take the most sane, rational person alive and turn them into a suicidal nutjob.. Someone sitting on death row is generally deprived of the real prison experience.. Valefor.Slipispsycho

If you have a problem with housing someone, then let's empty the jails of non-violent offenders.. If you're willing to pay (which it seems the majority of the public is content to do) to house someone for possession, then you should be willing to pay to house a cold blooded killer.
