linksys has a device that you can plug in the rj-45 jack on your network adapter (ethernet) and it will connect to a wireless router, friend had one for awhile...

3 models in the US. There are other countries!
I can't remember what my PS3 was originally, as I have since upgraded the HDD (which of course doesn't remove the emotion engine hardware). US and Japan are the two biggest gaming countries, so quite frankly the others don't matter as much, and unless you live in them nobody cares (sorry)

A wireless bridge? When I had my original Xbox and an unused WRT54G v5 router (v5 is when they stopped using Linux-based firmware so I hated it anyway) I flashed it with Micro DD-WRT and used it as a wireless bridge for the Xbox.

I have had 2 wrt54gs routers, I'm not sure the model versions but the one is really old, and the other is about 2 years newer than that (don't have that one anymore, traded it and a bottle of liquor for a failbox 360)

I just got back to this and I think that ps3 may be cut off from this update.
The partition for the game is 20gb while the game itself is 13gb which leaves less than 7gb considerting the HD data which is about .5gb. So the ps3 game partition for the PS2 HDD data is not a large enough partition for the update.
This makes me want to dust off the ps2 and see if it still works but I see in this thread people with ps2 are having a similiar issue.
Does anyone using ps3 that has seen the "low HD space" message got it downloaded since seeing it? What did you do differently?

never saw the message...
Also I think you can modify the size of the ps2 partition.

doesn't really make much sense for not all players on the ps2/(ps3) to receive this problem if it's a system specific glitch, I could understand if only the ps3 or only the ps2 or only certain models of ps2 etc would be giving the error, but this is pretty hardcore.

I miscalculated by a decimal. This update is actually less than 1gb which I have plenty of space for. Seeing as SE is looking into this for solutions as previously posted, I think this will be fine soon enough. Probably good tomorrow or the next day.

its obvious they didnt plan to kill the ps2 version after making 100million+ dollars off the add on from them then if they were to stop ps2 service they would have to refund ps2 users thats a net loss no matter how much the actual sales total for the add on also they droped this post

I have no hate in my heart for the ps2, it is one of the greatest consoles ever produced. Why? Because of it's fantastic 3rd party support. Which now is non-existent.
1~3 releases a month doesn't count as a console still living, it's a swan song.
MMO's have a place on consoles but just give up the ghost with the PS2. We go through this all the time. I'm sure you adequately macro in all of the useful gear for all of your jobs with the snappy and responsive menus of the PS2 you also keep such a high frame rate and resolution in all areas to keep up with whats going on. EG linkshells are crumbling because their PS2 members can't log in.

I'm on PC and I still can't update lol. Stupid busy crap. If your endgame LS crumbles because of 1 day off, I think a new one is in order lol. I've learned to just cancel all events on the day of the update and just kinda freelance it for the day whenever I'm able to get on.

You get mad when people bash your preference in a system yet you do the same to others.

Well, I have played on every system this damned game has been ported to... I like them all for different reasons.
I drag the PS2 around for LAN parties-- What I have found with this update is that-- it would apply to a PS2 that has a driver version of 1.11 and not to a system with driver version 1.10.
You can check your version by using the indicated green triangle button on the Browser/System Configuration startup screen.
Can anyone confirm/disprove this?
It does not appear we can update the driver software.

Personally I like the PS2 controller better then xbox. I prefer playing on PC but I'd rather dualbox on two systems rather then one for personal preference. So, I play on PC and PS2. Also, I do have the game on XBOX however my boyfriend uses that cause I really hate the controller. It's all about personal preference, I prefer PS2 controls better then xbox and it's also easier to navigate through an alliance on PS2 imo. Every system has their ups and downs. I don't use windower on PC and still prefer it over other systems but I'd still rather use PS2 for healing jobs like WHM. The only time I have issues with PS2 is the recent update and occasionally in Abyssea but the XBOX crashes a ***load more in Abyssea then my PS2 has ever crashed also my PS2 can handle Besiege a ***load better as well (not that that matters now anyway). Arguing about which system is better is pretty lame. The game was designed to harness a PS2 and it won't change anytime soon especially since they created 14 for the reason to upgrade from "PS2 Limitations." Hell, for an almost 10 year old game it still runs pretty epicly on all systems and has pushed beyond what anyone would have thought 10 years ago especially on the PS2 and from what we've upgraded over the years when it comes to games in general. I think they did a pretty awesome job pushing the limits of the PS2 anyway even if this "slight" glitch is holding a few players back for a day or so. I'm sure they'll be fixing it as soon as they can.

I've had my ps2, the same one, for 7 years now. No repairs, no returns. How many Xbox users can say that? Or PC users for that matter?

so im trying to download the update and halfway through stage 1 tells me i dont have enough space on HDD... are ps2 players fucked?
