Anyone have the update files yet to share? still sitting at +3hours on this wtf lol

OP at BG updated the filehosts. Megaupload and another direct download is linked.
Ok all downloaded... Now to try this and see how badly i *** up and need to reinstall it all XD
26% and nearly 4 hours on the ETA. It's nothing new. EU players always get the crumbs when it comes to the update cake :(
anyone have instructions link on where to put this stuff as i am getting nailed now with people asking how to do this thought there was a earlier thread via last update about this just not seeing it

3hrs 10 minutes left on mine. I have been downloading for around an hour though >.<

2. Unpack
3. ???

so step 3: back up originals
step4: copy/paste downlaoded files to the FFXI programs folder directory

I mean it might change if/when demand subsides. This is rubbish though. I mean 4pm schedule for update and it might end up being 10pm before we can play again. Why didn't they just schedule it for the morning?

"ROM"
"ROM2" etc. just select all of them and copy them (i sure hope you know how)
if not:
ctrl+c copy ctrl+v paste.
go in your ffxi directory
mine is at "D:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI" just go in the FINAL FANTASY XI Folder and Paste (ctrl+v) the files. when the pc starts working he asks if you want to replace the files (remember POL should be off by then) and say: yes. and say yes to all files withing the folder.

On mine it's C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI
No big worry just different drive, but in that folder are subfolders designated ROM to ROM8.
If I just extract everything out of the RAR into the \FINAL FANTASY XI
folder why do I feel that everything isn't in the right spot?

If you pressed extract, and it didn't ask you at all to merge,overwrite, it means you probably extracted the rom folders from the rar into the PlayOnline folder or somewhere.
Just browse and see if you got redundant/misplaced folders if it didn't ask to overwrite.
(If it did, then yeah it's that easy. Go on POL and goto the login button, and press check version. It'll check it, download 7 files or so, and done.)

To bad the servers are so clogged atm that even the check version button times out half the time.
Boooo I saw the play button, clicked but I am now getting a network connection error :/
