I have a lot of tattoos. The wrists goes across both says "life is the song / my heart beats to" and I have a black flag on my foot I have a Buddhist portrait that takes up almost my whole back and the word hope in old English on my ankle.

This was my first one. It looks a bit fuzzy because it was taken with a really old camera phone. It's on my hip. It's supposed to mean tiger, because I was born in the year of the tiger.




And this is my second one. This picture is a bit tacky because you can see my bra straps. It was taken on a weekend though, I had no intention of leaving the house or seeing anyone so I just threw on comfy clothes instead of making even the smallest effort to look nice. :-( Anyhow, this is a treble clef and a bass clef forming a heart. I played flute for a long time, which is in treble, and my husband played trombone for a long time, which is in bass. I also danced for my university for a few years and usually have music playing. I love music. Also, the first letter of my name is S, which looks like the treble clef. The first letter of my husband's name is C, which looks like the bass clef. So this one has quite a bit of meaning for me.

I think I remember seeing Liela's tats in another thread, but I just love hearing the story behind the music one :). Its so cute :). And I like Miyo's tats. They are pretty awesome too.

Thanks I got the wrists for my grandmother and music as well because when she passed I got her record collection and every season and event had its own record and it reminded me about how life is kind of kind of like that too. Your heart speeds up when excited or scared and slows down when you relax and I wanted something to remind me of her everyday.

You're pretty good looking Miyo, shame I'm not a tattoo kind of guy :( though the symbolism behind yours is sophisticated. A lot better than the usual I GOT A TATTOO CAUSE I WAS DRUNK nonsense. So I like yours regardless.

That's really sweet! I plan to get one for my grandparents too, eventually. They have both passed, but I miss them both. My grandfather was a sailor in WWII, so I'm planning to get an anchor for him. My grandmother's favorite flower was the cherry blossom, so I'm planning to get cherry blossoms twined into the rope on the anchor. But it'll have to wait until I pay off student loans! Much as I miss them, responsibilities and bills come before pleasure and tats.

I just want a simple star on my left wrist.. when i was like 15 I wanted a huge phoenix on my back but I've toned down since then I guess lol
