Help me please. I just went through 24 Royal Jellies and only skilled a .1 and a .1 and the last level is always the hardest since the last lvl is the last lvl which means less skillups.

It took me 3 days to get 24 Royal Jellies and they were gone in 10 minutes. Im fortunate I could borrow a friends Lvl 75 Thf/Nin or else I never would have got those at all. I just want 1 more recipe for the Lvl 100 cap. Is that asking SE to much?

I'm not Cooking 100 but my advice would be to just keep at it! The last couple of levels are by far the worst, especially when you're synthing with very expensive or hard to come by ingredients. The last push will be well worth it to see the satisfaction of "Sinneloa's Cooking skill reaches Level 100". :)

(.2 out of 24 synths is really bad, even at 99. I feel for you ;; Synthing to 100 in Smithing was just a piece of nonsense on a stick...)

Being a recent 100 cooker, all I can say is keep at it. I went 0/12 in skill ups off royal jellies once.

Awd Goggie really hated me after how many times I killed him.

36 here thankfully, compared to yours. First 12 synths I got 0.6, I got very excited as you can imagine. I'm glad it only went that high since each synth cost me 120k ;; Gem Gauntlets don't sell very well... NPC's for a fair bit though at least.

You could do the crawler NM mini quests with berries there. The final NM, Awd Googie or something, is 100% drop on jelly. I farmed up lots of them that way -- buy berries from the npc in jeuno and pray. Was a joke to kill for ~75SMN back a couple years ago.

I hit 100 on cursed soup as well but most my skill up from ~96 to 100 came from red curry. Had to camp the AH for meats and just mass produce them, then sold them slowly on the AH the next few weeks. Made a decent profit.

Red Curry gave me better skill up rates than cursed soup as well. It might have a slightly higher skill cap than cursed soup but who knows -- can't see much over 100 eh?

I had the idea of all ex drops or extremely rare drop rates be a guild points purchase but dont know who to contact for this idea.

I'd like that. Shame it'd be too little, too late for my Smithing, that would've saved a lot of time and money. Especially as guild points for Smithing are pretty easy to come by (Take today's item, for example. 17k on the AH for 7,200 points. Easy!)

You can submit petitions and suggestions to the support on PlayOnline.com or send it to the STF and see what they do about it. I wouldn't get my hopes up though...

Hauberk is allegedly 9,750 points, but I've never seen it asked for in almost a year of checking guild point items on and off (so every couple of days.) The resulting edit war on Wiki was quite amusing to watch. Only problem is the people claiming to have been asked for a Hauberk don't have any screenshots!

My brother is a Veteran in Cooking and is always complaining to me about how easy my guild points are. Takes me about two minutes to get 7,200 whereas he has to sit down and perform 40 synths for 3k. Needless to say I am highly amused by this, I told him that's what you get when you craft with Corn, compared to crafting with S T E E L like a true Blacksmith.

Ive heard theres one Goldsmiting synth that costs 1mil to make. Thats a really harsh break if you ask me. 50k for Dragon Meat cant even begin to approach that unless you lose a whole stack of Dragon Meat which I would think would be near impossible to do even if you dont know what day and what direction to face. The worse I had happen was maybe a stack of Ground Wasabi break over the course of a couple months.

At Veteran Rank it's usually around 5000 to 7000 points. Every once in awhile you get something like a Bronze Harness that gives you 1000 points for 40 items. Whilst they can be bought from the NPC, I never bother just because of the sheer irritation of it.

Guild points are really good all in all, most of the items can be bought off the AH for cheap because they don't sell (since they're useless items) and most people on lower levels make them skilling up and want their money back quicker!

Let's take a look at today's guild points item for further comparison:

Cooking:

Bowl of Egg Soup - 300 points per, 3,360 points maximum. Need 12 synths to receive full points.

Smithing:

Sallet - 3,540 points per, 6,400 points maximum. Need 2 synths to receive full points.

Life is gooooooood!

Oh, I love it when its something stupid like pebble soup.

Guild Points Value: 50 / 1,360 (27.2 items)

27~28 synths for 1.3k GP? Really. Come on. I'll usually just skip days like that because its not worth my time.

Combine this with the occasional item like Shark Fin Soup. Good luck trying to get the Shark, if you don't have a fisherman friend or fishing skill yourself you're screwed.

I remember running to Attowha Chasm with a stack of pickaxes to start excavating Chicken Bones for the synth, only to realize afterwards I had no way of getting the shark. Waste of time.

Let's take into account the synth costs though. How much would a load of Egg Soups cost you to make? Just making those two Sallets will set me back about 20k. I don't mind paying this for that many guild points though. I imagine Cooking is quite cheap usually?

This is true, but the cheap synths require a LOT of synths for a little bit of points. Imagine how long it takes to get any items you need from the guild when you turn in 1.5-2k GP per day on average.

I think so...granted I'm level 80 and haven't gotten into the really nasty ***90+ yet, but I like cooking in that you don't usually have to put out a ton of money up front. Think the most I ever laid out at one time for mats was like 50k, and that was when I was making Dhalmel Pie and needed to buy Wild Onions and Coral Fungus off the AH.

Getting guild points in cooking never really bothered me too much, either. All I've gotten is so far is Raw Fish Handling, and it took me quite a while to accrue the 30k points you need...but I also skipped a lot of days, focusing on those days when I could HQ the ***and get more points/gil. Plus, being able to get most mats from vendors is pretty nice... ^^

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. A confession right from Luignata's mouth (or rather... his fingers...) that Abrianna was paid for her services.
