I do, I liked them back then. Then they really took off once their next album came out. People gave me ***for liking them then, but when they hit it big, people would be like: "Hey, have you heard of this cool band, System of a Down?"

I think Disturbed is awesome. I don't much care for Asylum (the newest album) but I thought Indestructible was spot on. Albums before that were pretty good too. I think disliking a band because they are "mainstream" is pretty weak and only liking bands that haven't yet made a name for themselves doesn't make you any more "deep". I think people should listen to bands because they like the way they sound, not because of thier popularity or lack thereof.

It has nothing to do because they're popular. It's musically-related.
That's cool. Obviously not everyone is going to like the same kinds of music for whatever reasons, and I totally respect the right not to like a band for how you percieve them musically.
