As noted above, /shout mode has many beneficial uses, and people do not need to turn on shout filter just because you have no life and/or are desperately seeking attention.
If you need a social linkshell to have HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE conversations with other like-minded FFXI players, make one.
