um, yeah.
If anyone else could understand this...
Then you obviously
A) Don't run an EG-LS
B) Have maybe one job leveled
C) Have A LOT of jobs leveled...you you think Pearle/Teale/Aur is AWESOMELY Universal and never swap the *** out of it.
This is me.
In the end I admitted to my mistaken assumptions. I also forgot about Ra/Ex gear that you can't just put away, odd considering I have a ton of that myself. :S

Yeah just scrolled up and saw what you admitted. Sorry took me a while to type all that out. Trust me, just as in real life... spend enough time on FFXI and suddenly you have NO IDEA why you have so much ***

Lies! Why wouldn't you use one?
Also, I notice a lot of DRGs don't have a high HP set. Makes me sad. :(
I love DRG/mage and I want to eventually get enough HP+ and HP- gear to be able to trigger Healing Breath whenever I want. But I guess some people just stick with DRG/dd.
Right now, as a Taru :(, I can trigger Healing Breaths at like 850 HP through just HP+ gear.

There are lots of situations. Not having the gear for it shows you care very little about the job, or have no confidence that you'll ever take hate in any situation.

Even so, having the set lessens the damage you take and can help out healers, or if you're soloing, could save your life.
The 1000 needles example is just a cut and dry: "People who have a PDT set will live, people who don't will die."

I used to have a lot more sets for blu and rdm than I do now, but then I leveled more jobs.
Some corners had to be cut unfortunately.
Unless SE wants to give me 80 inventory per job on top of what we already have available, I can't go back to all those gear sets.

Eh, I own a full PDT/MDT set mix-matched for nearly all my jobs, even ones you wouldn't expect to have one.
Like i said, Didn't care too much, Just Cactaur was an awful example. Trying to help you win the argument by not choosing HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE back-water mob examples no one really fights on any real basis ever.
Also, PDT/MDT sets are important for a lot/all jobs, at least a modest one at best should be held, Mermans Rings/Earrings are universal, and kinda cheap, Colossus' mantle is free (MDT-2%) and so on, Looking for good universal armors that cover a lot of your jobs and still maintain effectiveness is a good means to conserve inventory space and maximize your potential (This part is more toward the people saying they don't have one)
Darksteel harness set covers a lot of jobs, good PDT on it, Jelly Ring/DarkAug/Patronus are all jobs can be pretty good chunk, Colossus's Earring.
Also part of a good PDT set might have some regen in slots without PDT options, so a good one used to be Orochi Nodawa, but i think these a PDT neck now? From some ram?
All out of space in your Mog Safe to accommodate that sorely needed panetiere? Mog satchel near to bursting at the seams? Fret no more, for the fast-approaching version update will usher in additional item storage features that will have adventurers kissing their storage woes goodbye!
Introducing the Mog Sack!
Humble in name but as equal to the task as its satchel counterpart, the mog sack will allow adventurers to stow and retrieve their personal belongings regardless of location. Sack capacity will correspond to a character's gobbiebag size, and may be expanded up to a maximum of 80 slots.
You can become the proud owner of your very own mog sack simply by purchasing it from the altruistic moogle posted at one of the locations listed below for the affordable price of 9,980 gil. Characters need not possess a mog satchel to qualify for mog sack ownership.
Southern San d'Oria (M-6)
Bastok Markets (H-7)
Windurst Woods (G-10)
Ru'Lude Gardens (I-9)
Introducing the Porter Moogle!
Ever showing concern for the storage plight of adventurers, the Mog House Management Union has decided to kick off its very own porter service. MHMU-certified Porter Moogles will soon be dispatched to the areas listed below to provide storage services for some of your most prized gear, such as those of the Artifact and Relic persuasions, as well as pieces acquired via Limbus and Salvage forays. But that's not where it ends! As Porter Moogles undergo constant and rigorous training, adventurers can expect the service to encompass an even greater range of gear in the future.
Porter Moogles will be happy to accept individual pieces and even upgraded items into their safekeeping. Adventurers wishing to store items may do so by purchasing corresponding storage slips from the moogle. Expected to cost approximately 1000 gil apiece, each slip can be reused to store and retrieve items an infinite number of times.
Northern San d'Oria (K-8)
Bastok Markets (I-9)
Port Windurst (L-6)
Lower Jeuno (I-6)
Tavnazian Safehold (F-8)
Aht Urhgan Whitegate (I-11)
