Hey everyone. Today is November 11, at least at the time I'm making this post. Here in Canada, we call this day Remembrance Day, though the United States calls it Veteran's Day and other countries around the world call it Armistice Day.
Remembrance Day is the day where we reflect on the people who have fought in war and are still fighting to this day. We honor both the living and those who gave their lives fighting for their country.
I even have a few things to share to celebrate the day that both marks the end of World War I and celebrates the lives of those who fought and are still fighting in war.
Jessie I would like to also pay tribute to our fallen heroes of Yesterday and as well as today..
Here is Flander's Fields then...
Flander's Fields after..
Here is Flander's Fields now..
It is so hard to believe sometimes that time can take a toll and nature can reclaim, and reform it into niceness and beauty.
Also I wanted to add in two songs for this particular thread and moment.
In Flander's Fields
And also a Canadian rock band from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The Trews.. with Highway of Heroes.
I believe that this stretch of Highway is right from Trenton Airforce Base to somewhere a Coroner's office in Toronto. This link will explain why Canada has this Highway decorated.
Well it has to be someones favorite time of the year, but really? I mean, come on, really?
lol, yeah I guess it's kinda weird. But I dunno, I just don't feel much spirit with any other holiday quite as much. Not even Christmas, at least not since last year anyway...
Remembrance Day to me is a day where I can be in the spirit of the day while still being respectful. All it takes is a poppy and a pittance of time.
How is this not about the bands new album??
Also, who came in here thinking that's what it was?
Not knoking troops, but, you shot my hopes up to crush them.
