If it's from a guy I totally dig or find attractive(according to what I think is handsome) then I'd go along with it but if it's from a person who appears too smug, like he could get any woman to fall at sight of him, or gets off as too strong, then no...

Well isn't the whole flirting thing a method of subtle (or not) suggestions that one person is interested romantically in another?
If that is the case, then it shouldn't matter what gender they are, sender or recipient.
I think most women expect the man to make the first move, primarily because that's just the way it seems to be always done... but hopefully women in general will become confident enough to go after a guy they might want (so long as he's not already attached :P )

They're idiots, because graceful rejection can get you caught on the rebound.
Though the relationship didn't go anywhere, I got a date right after rejection a few years ago because my parting words afterward were;

I wish the story had a happier ending, because you don't find many girls responsive to nerd-culture, at least around here, but it's still a fun story.
