Caitsith.Zefiris said: Animals die horribly in the wild and in captivity, the notion of humans-bad, animals-good is a little old. x.x We live in an imperfect world, if your goal is perfection, you will die disappointed. /endrant I suppose. Going to die disappointed either way personally. I'm not sure who is making any argument about humans being bad, and animals being good, unless Ivan Drago's wife was in here. Doesn't really matter anyways, the point is to lessen suffering exactly because we can see the flaws in nature. Not to just add to it because ***can't be perfect. I mean, if you use makeup, why? You can't look perfect, so what's the use in even attempting to look any better? Cerberus.Ethics said: Bahamut.Serj said: ITT: *** who can't make a logical statement. It would make me sad. I guess I shouldn't have said that. I wasn't trying to say nobody should try, I thought I did say we needed to work together towards eliminating this type of cruelty. And it is stated often and has been in threads leading up to this one that animals>humans because humans know better but still act in intolerable ways(among other reasons). Sorry for being vague or offending you, I'm not the best at expressing my thoughts. :)

Quetzalcoatl.Princemercury said: If fruits and vegetables had faces, what the hell would vegetarians and vegans do. Die out. Hmm...*goes around drawing faces on fruits and veggies* I believe wasting food, as in food fights, that *** tomato ***they do in Spain, getting more than you can eat at a buffet or cooking something improperly due to ones' lack of skills is worse than making an animal suffer before its death.
And something you prolife experts should keep in mind, those animals wouldn't even have life if it weren't for humans. They were breed for food, they're raised to be for food, get over it.
Edit: While cultivating and harvesting crops (fruits and vegetables) with heavy machinery kills more natural animals than a few pigs, cows, ducks or whatever you want to *** about. Vegetarians, from the other point of view!

Oh I'm sorry, your horribly moronic attention-*** comments aren't aimed at the same thing?
Had chicken last night, Bacon this morning, and beef for dinner tonight. Whatever way they are killing the animals to make my food keep doing it cause it tastes so damn good.
Asura.Masekase said: Vegetarians, from the other point of view! Lolololol..... Steak is my favorite animal.
Interesting Vegetarian Facts. Plants are living, vegetarians mercilessly slaughter billions of potatoes annually. Any product containing a thresher-harvested means (IE Wheat) Contains approximately 3% animal protein, mostly the result of small animals decimated by the blades of the thresher harvesting. A natural vegetarian diet does not provide the required nutrition to the human body, particularly hard hit is the brain. I won't bore you with the biochemistry, but when the asteroid hits, Vegetarians will die before the fatties. (Only human technology allows a full vegetarian diet, mostly focused around a particularly nutritious type of algae) The only legitimate reason to be a Vegetarian, is so your wank tastes sweeter, yes, it does work. So ridiculous when people spin a debate about animal cruelty into "OMG I LOVE MEAT, WHO CARES?"
Use your brain, if you have one. No one is saying (here at least) that meat is bad or that you shouldn't eat meat. Humans are naturally omnivores, case closed. The relevant and important point here is that animals are sentient creatures, and humanity owes them some modicum of decency and quality of life, even if they are destined to end up on your sandwich or dinner plate. In fact, it's easy to make the argument that the animals deserve *extra* attention and care for that exact reason. Only someone wasting their time on two degrees couldn't notice the fact it is not about prolife, and not six or seven words later make the amazing discovery that animals that are breed for food, are raised for food. Bismarck.Elanabelle said: In fact, it's easy to make the argument that the animals deserve *extra* attention and care for that exact reason. Sentience is the ability to feel or perceive. The term is used in science and philosophy, and in the study of artificial intelligence. Sentience is used in the study of consciousness to describe the ability to have sensations or experiences, known to Western philosophers as "qualia". In eastern philosophy, sentience is a metaphysical quality of all things that requires respect and care.
In many science fiction works sentience is often used as a synonym for sapience meaning "human-level or higher intelligence". From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia elanabella was being a bit vague. many/most animals are sentient would be more correct. I quoted wiki because I wasn't really sure if I wanted to get up and use my keyboard...oh but hey I had to log in to my email bleh. Odin.Zicdeh said: Steak is my favorite animal. Yes more vegetables harvested the more worms that die in the process. Guess its ok to kill worms. They are also not killed humanly. Most of the time having there body cut into lots of pieces. Let me hold your hand and walk you to the front of the short bus for a little. Breed = Controlling reproduction to maximize offspring. Raise = To care for and assure they yield the highest profit when slaughter time comes. Got that? Cool. Return to your seat. |
