30 days of night was a good film, one of the few good horror films of recent days.
lol im sorry but that movie sucked
Was ok for what it was, as was underworld, least the vampires were semi-realistic.
I watched the first twilight film was disappointed but did what i always did and tried to take it at face value. Liked the fact they all had different powers etc. That was as far as it goes. I got the books and have yet to touch them.
As far as underworld and 30 days of night. I liked them more then Blade. People seem to think nowadays that a character that sucks blood is automatically a vampire. It's very lame.
i was into twilight when the books actually first came out lol.... then all of sudden everyone is OMG TWILIGHT and im like wtf? i still go see the movies, but it pisses the ***out of me when people are screaming and laughing and giggling like *** little 5 yr olds and aww'ing and screaming take off your shirt jacob! i liked queen of the damned too
Every bit of respect I had for astrida was shredded in less than 3 posts. I hope you are trolling, so very, very bad.
lol ; ; i did watch those movies when i was like 12, maybe if i watch again i wont have the same view on them >.>;
Don't!
I loved The Monster Squad when I was little, and I always thought of it fondly until I watched it a few years ago. It was terrrrrrrrrible and it has ruined the memory of it
There has actually been a few good foreign films from 2000-2008ish that have stayed kinda true to vampires. Granted, twilight is after that? I can't remember the name of the movie I want to say but it was sweedish iirc. It had english subs.
Let the Right One In
yes its sweedish... but a wonderful vammpire movie
Naw, vampires for the most part always had sex. Half the time they seduced the women, then drank their blood and left them dead, but still, I get what you're saying.
True blood seemed like a soft core porno to me, though I haven't seen it. It was HBO wasn't it?

Just write vampires off as a lost cause. Even if they do make epic vampire movies, it will be *** ruined being side-by-side with more twilight and twilight-like sequels.
What's next? Zombie sitcoms?
But yeah, the 'love' is the major aspect of the issue I have with all of these, not the seduction. Seduction is as old as Bram Stokers Dracula.
That's been done too, "Vampire Diaries" Hi2u
Edit: I read "Vampire" Sitcom nvm, still though lol.
So, I still had Let the Right One In, but I can't find subtitles, or I don't know what to do wit them after I download them. Help, please? >.<
Google "let the right one in english subtitles" and keep looking... iirc it was quite a few *** tries to find 'the right one', but well worth it. And yes it's in no way your typical vampire flick, as with a lot of foreign films they try to put a unique spin on it, it didn't go in the twilight direction though thank god. I need to download it again, but finding subs won't be fun. ;;

I thought dead snow was funny....nothing to do with Vampires though.
I don't think they will bring out a film with real vampires in. People don't seem to want it/doesn't sell.
That is why Dracula/Interview with the Vampire etc will always be rated the best.
Vampire movies were selling fine until recently. Underworld started vampires downward spiral though, and when twilight hit all the real vampire fans said *** it. Now it's the 13 year old girls market as with most music. Once something is lost to the 13 year old girl genre, it stays lost.
All 3 blades did quite well and then 30 days of night and Daybreakers were theater released vampire movies, they all did well.
The real issue here isn't vampires being ruined, but all films in general. They will no longer produce movies for the sake of the film being inspiring or amazing, if it won't sell well to that 13 year old girl market they throw the script in the trash.
They only care about money these days not producing good films. They are starting to sue ppl and put pressure on ISP's about pirating to make a few more bucks, they no longer just want their films to be seen and enjoyed.
I downloaded the subs and had to rename the SRT files to match the AVI file.
Edit - The times are indeed changing. I thought to myself that this was likely how my parents felt about my generations music, or culture in general. It made me feel old and depressed. :<

Yeah but this is different, cause our generation was the best duh.
And lol, yeah it has to be exact same name to read it. I do that sometimes cause I like to rename the files after download. Usually I don't use subs unless it's a foreign film like this though.
I actually just recently watched Assault Girls with like no subtitles recently, and I don't know any japanese. Made everything like twice as weird...
This shouldn't be the image that comes standard with the word 'vampire'
Being a huge fan of the lore behind Vampires and everything, I find this image actually quite offensive.
Twilight has ruined the image of Vampires for good, we need a DAMN good vampire book or film to be released to counter this cancerous series.
The amount of spin-offs it's had as well makes me sick.
Couldn't agree with you more. Vampires are supposed to KILL people and drink their blood and not care about their "feelings." Twilight came and now vampires are a bunch of emo-kid pussies who care about each other.
only good vamp movies/shows i can think of off the top of my head are Angel and Blade. The crap coiming out today like true blood are twilight are jsut horrific (which is the closest thing to vampire as they got)
Many believe the lore of vampirism comes from those who suffer from Porphyria (Inb4 Oblivion).
Blood drinking = Sufferers of Porphyria have a lack of some chemical in their blood and used to ingest blood (often from animals) to calm the symptoms of their painful Porphyric attacks.
Garlic allergy = Sufferers often have an allergy to garlic that ends in crippling stomach pain.
The 'Nosferatu' defomation look = Porphyria had a tendency to eat away the nose, ears, lips, and gums of sufferers.
Fangs = See above, receeding gums.
No reflection = There's no real connection except that no one who looked "inhuman" would want to look at themselves.
Purple/Reddish urine = During a porphyric attack, if a sufferer's urine came into contact with sunlight, it takes on a rust/reddish/brownish or purple color. (No, I'm not joking.)
Weakness to Sunlight = A sufferer's skin is fairly sensitive to sunlight, often developing purple splotches, not sparkles.
Weakness to religious items = False, people fear what they don't understand, in those days, they didn't understand that these people were sick, not dead, and not evil. They often killed sufferers and/or desecrated their graves.
Honestly, I love the vampire stories, too, which is how I found this info, keep in mind that this info is basically a mix, some of it applies depending on the person and type/progress of the disease.
If Twilight were real; Sparkly vampire guy (IDK the name) would look something like...
