Not sure with new patch, but generally I'd:
Start boots + pots
Revolver
If I'm farming well and my lane isn't giving me trouble I will get CDR boots, other wise merc or tabi
WoTA
Abyssal sceptre
Deathcap or Rhylai's depending on if I needed to be beefier or not, then get whichever I didn't
Usually didn't get to 6th item, would depend on game, team comp, enemy builds, etc

What would be your opinion of Spirit Visage on him? Out of curiosity.
Not sure about the new one. Abyssal gave you MR, WoTA gave you extra spell vamp. It was something that would be replaced. May be more useful now!

I told ppl ADC blitz was amazing but ppl were like no you dont build him like that, think it was Aug!, but yea had this game where this blitz destroyed my whole team going ADC. Was scary and annoying, Ive never personally tried it but it looks very fun
so they changed the christmas katarina skin recall animation, doesn't have the pole dance anymore like the preview did. So not worth it now XD
For the secret santa thing, I'll expand my list of stuff of things that I would like to have so that whomever gets me can surprise me.

seems you get an error when trying to buy something the other person already has, or doesn't have(in case of a skin)
tried to gift someone a skin, but that person didnt have that specific champion.
