Do you build any GP/5 on Shy jungle?

When and where should I use GP/5 items? Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

On another note I got into a ranked team as a designated AP mid. After playing 5 games we've been placed at 1219 elo and hopefully it continues to go well for us.

None, Shyv isn't really the GP/5 jungle type. She needs items since her main strength is counter jungle; this means you're at a high risk of running into an enemy champ and need proper stats. If you've fallen behind and plan on only staying in your jungle, Heart of Gold may not be a bad idea.


GP/5 items are used mostly by supports since they get 0 cs but other roles can use them as well. Let me give several examples.

A lot of tanky junglers like Amumu, Malphite, Nautilus, Udyr, and Skarner can get away with building GP/5 items. They can do this because their clear times aren't enhanced by items, since they mostly use AoE's that only scale with AP to clear, and it's guaranteed gold. You would never want to build GP/5 on a jungler like shaco or Lee Sin probably. Any jungler that relys on auto attacks to jungle clear is a nono with GP/5

Top lane champs can build GP/5 too but that's only when you've been countered, or have lost the lead, and need to play very passive top. When I say passive I mean you have to avoid all trades else you'll lose the lane. It's very situational when you build GP/5 items top and you really have to know when. Also, normally champs with mana go this route when they're at a disadvantage and start with philo stone; it provides sustain and gold. I only know of one champ, Shen, that can get away with building a heart of gold top.

I love to build P.stone then eventually upgrade into Shurelya's on Skarner, really helps with ganking and late game initiating.

Thanks Itachi. Only champ I build a GP/5 on and it works is Irelia, and that's for early sustain and late-game Tenacity than gold.

Sometimes I do on Blitz, but if my carry sucks, I get stunted bad.

Just started playing this a couple days ago. So far I have taken a liking to Ashe, but obviously there is still a lot I have to learn. Any good tips/guides on playing her (and just playing, in general)?

I don't play too much(Level 19 after having an account for a few months) but my friends tell me a good way to learn is to watch people stream, good or bad. Just learning to point out their weaknesses/strengths will help you see them ingame later on through your team and the opposite team as well. I dunno how else to explain it but that's what they always tell me to do, although I'd rather just play xD

For Ashe she is a pretty standard "ranged carry" so generally you build the "holy trinity" for carries which is an Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, and Last Whisper.

I think the biggest thing with Ashe is don't be scared to let fly your arrow early but make sure you take your time in lining it up because in my opinion it might be one of the most game breaking ultimates.

Advice for the game: Make sure you don't get tunnel vision and try to map out where the other team is at all times. Tunnel vision whether farming creeps or chasing the enemy almost always leads to death. (The baits!) This is easier said than done but after you've played enough you can get a sense of where people are (jungle started x so he should be at x camp now, ect).
