Matches are starting to get more and more difficult for me, almost to the point where in solo queue I'll win about 20% of the time. At this rate I'm concerned about my ability to effectively play ranked. Is it a lot harder than normal matches? (In terms of player skill + seriousness)

Ranked games are harder but more fun imo
I have yet to do a ranked game. Some day I will I'm sure, but no real rush. Besides, a lot of people I play with aren't level 30 yet.

I'm curious to play Ranked games, but I don't think my current strategy will work as well. I'm sure it's much harder to steam-roll, and with Poppy, if I'm not steam-rolling, I'm either going 1:1, or beginning to get the upper-hand and then the game ends. I need to diversify my champ selection I think, but not really sure who will fit into my tastes yet.

You can say the same for just regular matches >.> But I was one of those retards last night lol. 4/15 after getting auto-selected as Maokai. We were getting hammered though in general. Nidalee's spear was taking off 50%+ of our HP. That ***is so broken.

If you can't carry and win the majority of your normal games, you won't do well in ranked.
Ranked difficulty is more or less relative to your true ELO. If you belong in a higher ELO tier, you will eventually get there.
