Well lets hope this is hindering our attempts to play FFXI, just wish they would do something about it right now, instead of making us wait another 24-48 hours.

No one has yet explained why it was working fine until Wednesday and now is not. Surely they can look at what work they undertook during Tuesday-Wednesday across their whole network.

EDIT: Weren't we told to keep it locked so it didn't get pushed to the back of their queue? The way they prioritise is awful. Shall we help a single user or a group of people with an issue first....

Eh, I think it is less of a queue, and more "if something vanishes from recently being posted in we can forget about it"

The reason it all went *** up on wednesday is because there was a systematic update of talktalk equipment on tueday night, this was said to me by the talktalk agent i could actually speak with, so undoubtfully they glitched something during this time and ultimatly screwed us all over for shits and giggles.. just my thought though

I bet a chimp accidentally hit a switch causing us all those problems.

Lets hope we can actually get to the bottom of this and fast.

Ok, I just spoke to someone in 'customer service'. I explained the situation and it was caused by interleaving on my account (thank goodness she didn't ask me any questions because I didn't have a clue about it really). I was put on hold for a few minutes then she came back and said she had sent a message off to fix this and it would be ok within a couple of days, so here's hoping!

It may be a case of everyone having to contact them to get it turned off if this is the problem though.

You'd think regardless of blame Playonline EU would do their own investigation on your behalves. It's not an isolated incident effecting like 1 or 2 people...

so if they know they've put interleaving on people accounts why dont they jsut remove it all!?

plus.. they're CLEARLY lying..

"In computer science and telecommunication, interleaving is a way to arrange data in a non-contiguous way to increase performance."

how has this increased our performance???

Well I called SE and they said they could see the connection crashing at a specific IP (in leeds he said) So i called ignoreingnore to see what's what.

The guy i spoke to said there was no issue at all with my account or the system (lol) so i then pointed out that at least 50+ people are having the exact same fault. I pointed out the thing about interlocking and also about the ports needing clearing. I advised there were several forum topics open about it on their site and that the fault had occurred to everyone on ignoreignore at exactly the same time.

This guy still asked me to reset my router. At this point i exploded and raged a bit. Then I reiterated I had done this and 50 thousand other tests with first and second line support and also bought a £100 gaming router just to make sure.

Then as if by magic, something i didn't and would never expect......I was put on hold for the adviser to comeback 3 mins later and advise me it was not an issue their side but he had logged the fault.

At 13:02 GMT this is when my faith in humanity died.

For those of you who are getting interleaving turned off in a couple of days could you please keep us updated on whether this helps or not? Some people have a tendancy never to post again after their problems are solved but if it works for you I'm sure others would like to request it.

Being in the Computer Science field myself (last year of Bachelors) I can picture how this would cause latency but I also wonder why they would suddenly just switch this on for a large amount of accounts.

Another question to people here; do you use much bandwidth monthly (torrents, online video, vide/voice chat etc..)? It could be related. My answer would be 'Yes' (though all legit 'catch up' online video).

To do a tracert just open your command prompt window and type tracert google.co.uk and hit enter. Should run a test and will give you the info you need. Not sure on what the FF address would be to put in there tho.

The game itself has multiple IP addresses it seems, tried searching on google for this information and can't seem to get anything concrete at all. Considering I play on x360 as well, makes it harder for me to view the information.

"if" anyone is on game it might be an idea to ask a GM for this information as long as you xplain why you need it.

From what I read earlier someone has been provided this info and i think they provided it to talktalk at one point

OCE is a bit dumb "please provide the platform" yet i provided the info that all systems are affected..

/facepalm
