Does anyone know if they got free trial? Was looking around some but couldnt find any.
I'm not about to pay 30$ for a game I might not like :/

let me save you the effort, don't play it. It's riddled with bots and RMT and isn't worth the time.
Not even exaggerating i'd log into that game and have multiple pages of messages from RMT offering me gold for money. Also there were times when i'd have trouble grinding because all the good spots were taken up by bots.

Let me save u more effort. End Game consists of, sitting on your arse waiting for your instance timer to wear off (Dark Poeta) because seriously. Thats all there is too do in that crap game.
I played it, got to 50. Was hacked once due to NCsofts idiocy in letting a security breach on their main site and not fixing it for a month. Waited a month and a half to get my character back. Did Dark Poeta twice, Realised theres *** all else to do. and quit. And dont no1 go praising this 1.9 patch. Its crap still. woop de doo increased drop rates. NCsoft are by and far the most worthless piece of crap company you will ever have to deal with.

If he hates both FFXI and WoW/WoW clones, then the only one that immediately comes to mind is EVE.
Stay away from Aion, horrible game, very very boring. I was really disappointed with that game. Nowhere close to FFXI in comparison.

I hope that Lego Universe (yes, Lego) will be fun and entertaining. Sounds like its gonna be something very different from all the other MMOs roaming around. Even though its Lego its sait to be for "older and younger gamers".

idk I find aion to be a nice break from FFXI myself.. granted it's alot of questline XP and grinding but from time to time it's nice to have a change... really looking forward to this update, hoping I won't be so bored with FFXI anymore lol.
I really enjoyed Mabinogi a free to play MMORPG, I also i'm not sure about it but LOTRO just became free to play.
You can always play Ragnarok on private servers.
Mabinogi has alot of similarities to FFXI with the focus on solo mostly removed and quests mostly being storyline progression.
Other than that FFXI is kind of unique in the fact that what it offers not many other MMORPG's have.

friend tried getting me to join up~ Heard half the crafts are useless now. so that kills it for me~ cuz all i did in that game was craft =/
When this patch hits I'm gonna hit it for sure. I never got to 50 but I got close, ended up making a ton of alts to get the Divine Armor and Weapon which are apparently upgradable now.
The crafting system was kinda fun (with the exception of aether gatehring), apparently they're supposed to be fixing all of that too by adding new recipes for higher tier armor.

well my friend who currently plays~ he says that the only main craft thats worth a thing is weaponsmithing, but you need to craft the oranges or w/e they are now. And since I was a handicrafter...that craft has gone down the tube. Its near useless he says.

I read that a few days ago. The g/f and I are going to check it out for sure and at least try it.

When I played it at launch is was a good game, it just didn't have enough content for me as a PvE-centric person to make me pay for it monthly. It seems that's been fixed, and I was even considering going back for 3.0 even with the subscription model.
I strongly urge anyone with any sort of interest, and even those without, to at least try the game out. For free, with 3.0, it's probably the best F2P offering out there until GW2, and will likely still live right alongside GW2.
