Why is that funny? Math is funny, you can say this and this happens, but it doesn't always happen like that, are we robots? No...

So what you're saying is you basically have nothing concrete to work with, which gives me no reason to believe your statements.
;(
I'm not saying ***plays out exactly as it's modeled, but a decent model is better than no model at all.

We aren't robots, but the game is based on mathematical equations, do the math or gtfo.

it's been said before and is worth saying again
sadly, on this site math = trolling
as for math being accurate, math accurately predicts your potential. how close you can get your performance to that potential depends on the player.
not being able to reach 100% of the potential that the math illustrates is a terrible reason to throw out math altogether

Also because Raenryong said so :s

Ai, people like this are the reason I decided to work on Evasion Dakinis for the level cap increase. Never want to party with any of you argumentative jerks who forget that games are for entertainment and demand that everything in them is SUCH SERIOUS BUSINESS. :x

Nightfyre is a troll because he tries to turn people away from ignorance and hence away from bliss. He is trying to do harm to people!

Which you've yet to do, apparently. Maybe I'm wrong, betting I'm not, but I don't think Thorny has any delusions about his abrasive posting style.
Dunno why I even bother with posts like this, fat chance of people actually moving towards even ground so the thread can progress. Information gets passed out and immediately buried in flamewars... Both sides are at fault to an extent there, but it doesn't change who's right from a gameplay standpoint.

yeah, uh, just sayin'
some of us appreciate the math people like you, rean, veg, and thorny do and use it to try to optimize our jobs
please don't stop doing it because it usually tends to get rewarded with ratedowns and QQ ><

I don't mind the math. I respect the people that do it.
However, I HATE the "holier than thou" attitude that 90% of the people that do math seem to have.

Math gets results one way or another. Requesting data from somebody else and/or attempting to constructively rerail a thread? Not so much XD
and thanks :)

Math isn't the useless, but its not the be all, end all that people seem to think it is.
Math can show the max potential, but there are other factors that get left out that prevent you from reaching that max.

Generally speaking, people wont be receptive to information when you act like an *** about it.
Im sure once people resort to name calling and personal attacks, they lose a lot of credibility with people.

Math can show the max potential, but there are other factors that get left out that prevent you from reaching that max. The better you play, the closer you get... that said, if you really wanted to you could create models based on less aggressive playstyles. The math is as accurate as you make it, it's just more convenient to approach things from an ideal standpoint and assume people understand the resulting limitations on the results.

it's nice when people like rean take the trouble to do it politely
but i'd MUCH rather get (correctly)called a gimp and be given advice that i could use to improve than to have one of my mistakes go ignored
there was an excellent paladin in my social ls who let me be a purple paladin for a couple months without saying anything about it
when i found out how bad my setup really was by finding and reading BG, i asked him why he didn't stop me and he said he didn't want to "hurt my feelings" or "tell me how to play"
*** man, that's like being at work and not having your friend tell you you forgot your pants cause he didn't want to embarrass you ><

Damn quoting is messed up.
@Nightfyre: While I understand that, called someone an ugly *** is taking it a bit too far. Just give up on them if they wont listen. Being a douche bag isn't going to make them listen.
Not that I'm calling you a douche bag. You're one of the 10% who's relatively nice to people unless you start getting personally attacked.

Yes, the title remains true if you're male or female. Either way, you're a dancing queen.
This new update will bolster lots of improvements to the already amazing job of Dancer. Though not many people know its strengths, its already rather exceptional in merit parties and in DRK zergs.
Here is a list of the changes for DNC in an easy to read list complete with your loyal FFXIAH Dancer's commentary on the additions:
Presto (DNC Lv.77 Recast: 15 sec ~ Duration: 30 sec.)
Enhances the effect of your next step and grants you an additional finishing move.
This means stronger debuffs, and 3 finishing moves per step. Steps have 15 sec cooldown, so does this JA.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Divine Waltz II (DNC Lv.78 Ability Delay: 20 sec.)
Restores the HP of all party members within a small radius.
Gogo more potent Curaga dance. Not much more to say.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Climactic Flourish (DNC Lv.80 Ability Delay: 90 sec.)
Allows you to deal critical hits. Requires at least one finishing move.
If this stacks with WS’s then you can crit on… Dancing Edge. This = absolute WIN.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Crit. Atk. Bonus: Improves power of critical hits. Dnc level 80
Bad ass job trait… Who doesn’t want stronger crits? This in combo with Climactic Finish will result in basically a potent replacement for Sneak Attack.
Tactical Parry: Grants bonus TP when parrying an attack. DNC 77
Extra TP off those odd parries. Can’t hurt, right?
Skillchain Bonus Improves skillchain damage. DNC 45
Extra damage for skillchains? Also bad ass… Though situational unless you actually solo skillchains on DNC. Typically a waste of finishing moves though.
Conserve TP Occasionally cuts down TP cost of weapon skills. Dnc 77
Once again… Another bad ass addition to the Dancer arsenal. The chance to retain some of your TP upon WS’ing is very cool.
Dancers will be able to perform the ability "Cure Waltz" on non-party members.
Awesome. Sucked being a solo DNC in campaign sometimes when you could only heal yourself. Now you can also help cure alliance members too!
Now… Last but certainly not least… In fact this is easily the best new thing:
The "Dual Wield" job trait will become available to dancers at level 20, with the degree of mastery increasing in stages thereafter.
Yes… yes that’s right… Dnc/War, Dnc/Sam, Dnc/Thf, Dnc/Drk, Dnc/anything you can think of for boosted DD potential with the ability to still dual wield since Dancer will get the trait themselves… absolute madness. Possibilities are endless… Dnc/Whm with aspir samba to get mp for extra cures is always nice. Also Dnc/Drk will have 2 stuns. Violent flourish is a stun with a 20 second cooldown that already exists in-game, btw.
