Problem with practicing on CPUs, is that the cpus do not use the strategies most people use. So what you're practicing against, is only going to give you a small estimate of how hard real players are.
CPU Meta fights on the ground a lot, and is a fcking retard at times when it comes to recovery.
CPU Snake doesn't make a good use of grenades, doesn't DACUS, and is terrible in the air.
CPU Ike, is probably one of the easiest ones to beat. He completely ignores the fact that he has his Side-B move to recover with. And spams attacks like B, Up-Smash etc.
Good CPUs to practice on would be characters you DO NOT play/vs a lot, and/or characters that aren't stupid CPUs. I usually vs characters like Meta Knight, Marth, Sheik Fox and Falco.

Semi good representation of me. I use grenades, but I don't DACUS

Ftw :)
Though, I like my air game, if I do say so myself. I make good use of neutral air and back air

Yeah I still gotta work on my N-Air and Right/Left-A attacks. When I focus on not moving the joystick for that split second to use N-air, or not jerking the joystick to do Right/Left-A I mess up because I end up getting smacked.

Granted, if you cannot beat a Lv9 computer, one does not stand a chance against real players. They're good to a point where you can't get any better off of them. You can pull off combos like no other against a computer, then realize it's pretty ineffective against people, lol. Also good to learn how to play defensively from CPUs since they're so aggressive. Only thing a CPU can do that many plays cannot is perfectly block a move then INSTANTLY grab you. I've never seen a player pull that off, at least constantly.

Honestly, the computer gives me a more difficult time than a lot of the players here, for some reason. Because as soon as I go to do something I try to predict as if they were a player and they do something totally diff and always leaves me open for free attacks.

I honestly go like 70/30 on win/loss w/ certain lv 9 cpu chars.

I'm actually starting to wonder if CPUs learn from you. Because I have vsed a few CPUs that actually ledge hog. Or if I vs Fox, we'll get into a projectile reflecting battle. It's interesting sometimes.

Sheik, Fox, and Meta Knight give me the hardest time. :/
I occasionally will lose against them, but it's not common.

I really think they do. I used to do one combo with Pikachu and it would always land. After awhile, they would always know when to block/dodge it.

Only time I lose to CPUs is if I'm doing FFA since they gang up on the human controlled player.
Oh, and I'm fairly certain no one is better than a Lv9 Sonic with the Final Smash. *** is 100% accurate with it.

As far as Ike goes, I can kill him easy if you camp corners or spam projectiles, but if you go in for a straight up in your face type battle (which generally occurs on ike vs ike). *** can wreck ***

I guess I fight CPUs too often. I find it incredibly difficult to lose to one 1 v 1. I could have 1 life and the CPU has 3 and still flawlessly win, lol.

lol I did a FFA with 3 CPU and fought in a custom built stage where they were trapped and I was outside. None of them attacked each other until I was inside with them.

Send that ***to Nintendo to make sure this ***doesn't happen in the next Smash Bros. CPUs are a headache for this very reason.

I remember one stage I built. It was large like New Pork City, and I had ladders at the bottom of the stage.
I was playing Snake vs Meta Diddy and Falco (God tier chars!)
And I just sat at the bottom of the stage hanging onto the ladders. It took like 2 min before any CPU attack anybody. If anything I think someone had suicide, before MK Finally attacked me.

Also guys, remember this... the level of the CPU tends to mean their aggression.... I know with Melee that most pros stated that it was BETTER to train against level 7 CPUs then level 9, simply because they had a proper balance of aggression and knowledge (aka, don't tend to do stupid ***)

Well, practicing against a spammy HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE aggressive lv9 character would be good, because it helps practicing against unpredictable things.

Meh, it gets to a point where the only way to train for real players is to fight real players. CPUs are just too inconsistent, no matter what level you fight them. No player just randomly walks for 2 seconds past an attack rather than dodging it.

Oh I agree Haseyo, but its for situations when you wanna work on your attack style and other players aren't available/you want to hide that you have change your method of offense.
