Does this game have some sort of hate system with the AI? I noticed sometimes I get all 3 CPU's standing around and waiting to attack while i float down, over and over until I die and then they go about fighting again.

Yep. It's called "Kill the human player."
CPUs ALWAYS do this when it's just you. They will sit there and wait for you to die, then they'll tickle each other until you respawn. Final Smash? Unless it's a stage effect one, they will save it for you. Always. It's inevitable.
I notice some of y'all are pretty damn good with Ike... any tips with him for recovering? I have been trying him out but his jumps seem kinda... eh. His UP+B doesn't move him forward very far it seems. Any tips?

If you get launched far enough off stage where his Side-B move can dash you back to the stage, start charging it as soon as you can. If he's close enough where Aether (Up-B) can put you back on the stage, then just do that.

I should also add, if one has vsed Ike enough times, they would know that if his Side-B move is his only way back onto the stage, then he's not coming back at all, just because of the fact that you can run right into his Side-B move when he's off stage, and becomes powerless. Meaning he can't do anything but fall to his death.
So Ike recovery pro tip: "Don't get knocked of the edge." lol
