Just throwing this out there...just my own experience with stealing gold coins. Have you tried the Sneak attack-->hide-->steal (from behind him) idk why but I seem to have gotten better results when I SA's first. That being said it could just be pure luck idk. Goodluck tho thf's a fun job.

You cannot prove something without data collected via a controlled, scientific method: this means all of your tests on Earthsday will have to be performed at the same moon phase (time is a bit of a stretch, but moon phase MIGHT affect it - you can't discount this).

On topic though @OP: At level 70, you should be more than capable of meleeing Maat down. If you cannot, then it suggests that your gear is severely lacking and you should take this opportunity to improve it.

You need good Daggers, a Bomb Core at the least to use when not pulling, Optical Hat would be nice because it's good for WS until you get Hecatomb/Enkidu Cap, Chivalrous Chain at the very least for the neck, 2x Attack Earring at least, Dusk Gloves at 72 (Battle Gloves until then I guess unless I'm missing something), 2x ACC ring (macro the DEX ones into SA and AGI into TA), NQ Amemet or HQ, At least a Headlong Belt, Bravo's Subligar and Dusk Ledelsens at 72.

EDIT: Also, WAR sub at 37 will help at 75.

Sound like a lot of work? If so, it's because you haven't been doing it as you go along which'll make it stack up against you. WELL worth the effort (and learning to make money is a valuable skill in itself).

Didnt read through all the posts, but has anyone mentioned that if youve fought and beat maat before on any other job, Stealing doesnt work?

OP hasn't beaten Maat on any other job so that's not the problem here.

But the Armlets, dude! They have CHR! It's so *** obvious...

also not i fought maat at 66 and won in AF 30 hi-potions (500)G eachon my server at the time reraise from Conquest Points T.taco sleep 100tp and a I.Wing spartan hoplon"shield" stun knife and most important Sleep Bolts+ sneak atk

Wait... Are you saying you take one with you every run? The item Scroll of Instant Warp is Rare/Ex, meaning you can only have one. Since you have one, you are incapable of stealing another. It happens on 100% drop rates too, if everyone has one, the item cannot drop.

So next time you try, do NOT grab a Warp Scroll (drop your current one) and try again.
