I'm glad I'm not a taru. Sure, they get massive MP, but what's the point if you just die before you can use it?
It has gotten me in a lot of trouble. I just avoid doing stuff solo unless I'm sure I can solo it. Going /rdm with Phalanx does help, but usually prolongs death.
