I keep seeing many different people sell these at 1k. Ever checked an NPC? Taking taxes into account and the fact that you get ~200ish more Gil by NPCing this, I don't know why you just don't do that. Crafters would have no problem to buy this for 1,5k or 2k, but it's just the people who want to get it sold quickly. Well, NPCing might be the cure for your wallet worries!

These ores do indeed drop from Item (gold) chests in all 3 of the abyssea zones.

Also drops in Walk of Echoes.
