If you're trading this in for guild point (cooking), you can also obtain these from Selbina, an NPC Galka by the name of Dohdjuma at G-10. Pickled Herring will be about 436 - 499gil each. You'll need 22 of these for 2560 guild points.
While fishing for skill ups in Qufim Island, these and Tiger Cod made into sliced cod net a rather decent slice of gil when sold to NPCs. The Herring go for about 500 gil per fish, the Cod for about 300 gil per. Considering Shrimp Lures + Halycon/Lu Shangs are basically pull these two up non-stop, you can see some 50k-100k by the time you cap for the day. It takes a bit for the synthesis, but worth it.
