Just because a weapon has a higher delay, doesn't mean you'll reach 100TP quicker. A higher delay does grant more TP per hit, but then you hit less often. Both the G.M. Uchigatana and Zanbato take similar lengths of time to reach 100TP, as you'd expect from weapons of similar levels.
The amount of Store TP that you have will effect which of these reaches 100tp fastest, but the winner depends on how much Store TP you have. Use a TP calculator if you want to find out.
What with SAMs having Store TP, Meditate and Sekkanoki, weaponskills are your main damage outlets.
GM Uchigatana has the obvious attack/accuracy bonuses and a higher DPS, but Zanbato has a higher DMG which is better for weaponskills. So personally, I'd opt for this over the GM Uchigatana
(although I have a GM Uchigatana,... well, what else do you use Bastokan conquest points for -.-)
I've been thinking about this for a while now.... But wouldnt everyone expect a samurai to choose this weapon over GM Uchigatana? Me personally, I would, for the certain fact that this GK does more damage then GM Uchigatana, and, you get more TP per swing then it. Now I understand the Delay effects on it, with Hasso, Speed Belt, And Fuma boots, the delay is like baby stuff.

The one thing I dont understand you saying is that SAMs could use the extra ACC from GM Uchigatana. Sure, the +4 ACC isnt bad to have, but at this level, you would have Haurby, Chiv. chain/Peacock Amulet, Archer's ring, Potent belt/Speed Belt, etc. Now whats the extra +4ACC to the ACC given off these pieces of equipment?
And another thing, Zanbato is cheaper then GM Uchigatana, and everyone loves cheaper. lol
I've been using this G.Katana since I hit 61, and I have a 6hit build with it that I can't get with another weapon at 72. IMO this is better than a G.M. Uchigatana, higher attack and with Hasso, it's delay is reduced by 10%.
Besides, there really aren't that many more choices that the average player can get with more attack without spending a day or so farming gil.
What these comments possibly haven't taken into consideration is the effect of a weapons delay on TP gain.
The two other GK's mentioned may have faster hits (DPS is second only to the GM Uchigatana, though), but being a SAM, most of all your damage is going to come from your WS, and you're going to be getting more WS with a higher delay.
