	This shield has a hidden effect which gives it the highest block rate in the game (98%) but blocks the least amount of damage (1-5%). Often used as a skill-up shield. 2009-02-09 20:11:53

	The shield no longer blocks 98% of the time. SE must have ninja nerfed it or the addition of Ochain broke it somehow. Sad, was the best skill up shield. 2011-06-26 17:30:39

	Drops from Adamantoise and Aspidochelone. It's a shame this is rare/ex; it'd prolly go for cheap, and it is very useful for leveling shield skill. It supposedly has a hidden effect of blocking more often than normal, even for a size 1 shield. 2008-04-20 06:46:24

	I agree with Radatz the hidden block rate does seem to have gone away however with playing around with it equipped I have noticed a jump in parry rates any tester out there play with this item recently? 2011-01-26 08:03:20

	The allure of a shield for paladin, is not only that you can get shadows up reliably, almost any job can do that. The draw is that it also prevents taking excessive damage while shadows are down, which is a unique ability that many jobs cant achieve without a thorough Physical Damage Taken set. 2010-12-01 01:08:11

	supposedly its 20% now. Now whether that was on accident or cus changes to how shield skill works or other shield things added is anyone's guess. 2011-10-20 14:12:25

	I don't think this thing would go for cheap... it has the highest blocking rate in the game a 98% which is better then Aegis. Definitely a top notch shield for any paladin imo 2009-01-26 20:24:39
