if your doing this for guild point items, wiki and ffxiah.com are wrong about the points and number of shields needed. Its only actually 680 points per shield now and takes 6+ to cap points. These sites have it listed as double that amount and only needing 3.
Actually quite a damn good shield for RDM, BST and WAR. Pld should opt for kite shield 3 levels earlier(if memory serves me correctly). This is a type 1 shield which means it will proc most often and therefore will protect you more often. The downside is with type 1 shields that they also reduce the damage by the least amount, generally. But this isn't too noticeable at this level and this shield is a great choice and will last its while at only 5k on Ifrit. Well worth its while for Beastmaster's, Red mage's and tanking Warrior's at this level. But as previously stated, ALL paladin's should be using a Kite shield(type 4).
