5.8 earthquake near DC
I wish I felt the earthquake =< Detroit apparently felt it (i'm like an hour north of Detroit right now)
I thought the office building was going to fall down on top of me. It really got my animal survival instincts fired up, damn near ran out the back door once I realized it wasn't just a bunch of people upstairs moving furniture.

Edit: the people near us that say they felt it live out towards Gastonia. Makes sense (I guess) since that's closer to the mountains. 5.9 earthquake in Va. felt across Hampton Roads, N.C....
i thought i was crazy until i went on facebook to see my friends that live ten hours away felt it too. im 45min south of VA border Speaking of nearby posters. Whatever happened to our whole ffxiah/map thing? The voluntary location thingy that showed what state/city each of us posted from?
...I live in Georgia, and expectedly...I felt nothing.
Southern NJ, near philly. That was scary as hell. U__U
Bucks, PA, that scared the ***out of me
In 28 years in NJ this is only the second I can even remember making its way all the way up here so yes, east coast earthquakes are a little more wtf than cali getting hit by yet another earthquake. Was a pretty strong after shock for so far away (virginia vs jersey shore), set off car alarms and now none of my cellphones work, thnx for the free hour of no work phone calls virginia :x
Didn't even shake a pine cone and a pear off my tree :P
At first the ac kicked on in my house. I thought it was just a rough start, but when it got worse in matter of seconds, my eyes got really big and I went, "What the *** is going on?!" Power flickered here, dogs went nuts, things were rattling, it was rather unsettling until it stopped. ; ;
also apparently the earthquake helped pres. obama's game, he was playing golf when the EQ hit.
LOL really Sira?

Quote: Jeffrey Halka of the American Geological Survey told 11 News that even though earthquakes are relatively low-magnitude on the East Coast as compared to California, they're generally felt over long distances. He said there could be some aftershocks, probably of a lower magnitude.
