I may be confused on this issue. Im going from memory, but I got a pretty good augment on Blood mask with -5 QD timer
AND I no longer need my old light melee Mirke so might redo that with -QD augments also .............
So the question is can I macro in -QD gears and somehow swap mid action for +QD damage for +2 Empyrean set? Seems impossible since its instant.
If not, Has there been discussion to show the increased QD frequency
makes up for potential lost damage from the set effects?

It's a JA so it's instant there's no cast time for midcast swapping.
QD is instant, you can't have precast and midcast gear.
Best gearset include W mask and Mirke to get 40 seconds recast.

As stated above, it's an instant. so no precast/midcast.
BUT you may want to have 2 sets. One with your W.mask when damage doesn't matter...
and one with Pandinus/Thaumas Hat/Nav.Tricorne when you want higher damage.
EDIT: Unless of course the mask can be augmented with MAB...

Maybe for ADL which lasts 30 seconds, but for everything else you want to ride the timer.

Oh of course, in a zerg situation, the timer won't matter much when ***dies in a heartbeat.
In THEORY the mask could get up to -5 QD recast and +6 mab. But you'd be the most lucky *** in the world to get something like that. Mab comes from the dreadful random pool.

You claimed it to be a perfect augment, which was false.
I said it was 2 MAcc short of a perfect augment, assumed you would take that as "perfect augment of what it can naturally get". Sorry but not gonna waste tatters trying to get lucky enough for both MAB+6 and QD-5 to land on the mask at the same time. It's just not practical lol. How many tatters did you try before giving up on it? @.@

Thanks guys. So if i hear this right you say for longer non-zerg fights I should try to "ride the timer" and go for thw W.head and ACP body with -QD? more TP equals more WS.
