THF Gear Advice
Little rogue question~
At the moment I don't have Epona's(and don't know when the luckk will grant me one), I'm using Rajas/Heed for tp and was wondering if Demonry could be a better alternative. Leviathan.Laphine

Acc issues seems like a thing of the past, so heed really does little. Demonry is certainly great inside abyssea where 50%-60% of our hits are triples. I never checked it vs rajas outside (has potential to win i think). But well, considering you don't have epona, you can use demonry without any worries.
There's a test on the exact value of Demonry ring somewhere in the Random Facts threads in the Mathy Parts Redux portion of BG forums, but I don't really care enough to go pick it out.
You have the information that it's there now though, so you can look it up! Leviathan.Laphine

3% boost. Hmm a shame, i was still thinking it was 5%. 3% is quite a hit to my expectations lol.
Assassins feet
"Increases Triple Attack damage by 2%. " Curtesy of BG. Link to the test done by Motenten is at the bottom of the page. Time to downgrade it a bit in all the comparisons :( Lakshmi.Aanalaty said: » Does anyone even know how much the 'enhances triple atk damage' is? Im sure someone must otherwise all these comparisons are completely moot without knowing wtf they do. BG doesnt have anything yet and i havent personally seen a single test on them. Related: AC boost? What is it? AC boost is +Critical 1% per level of AC. So +5% Critical Rate with fully merited AC, worth keeping levels over Ambush? Unless it somehow bypasses the no crit on anything but evis (nothing impossible, just improbable!), im not to excited about the 5% crit enhancement. The only WS that it will have ANY affect at all is evis.
Unless you plan to max out AC for the acc bonus(SAWS doesnt force 100% acc on anything but the main 1st hit. Common misconception, so the acc boost can help) then I wouldnt really bother. The crit rate is only for evis, and only even matters if your 5/5 which you should do for the acc, not for the crit on evis. That and it basically requires you to use spellcast because there is no way the basic macro set or even extended macros can cover that convienently. Thats a lot of ifs and maybes for a boost that only applies when AC is up for Evis for me to really care. with the timer auto capped at 1 point, i dont even know what ill max. They all seem very bleh additional effects. Ive only ever used AS as a dispell, not for absorbs. I dual box to much stuff to bother with ambush, and often have hate when im not. Feint, lolTH. Ill prob just do 5/5 AC sincee im getting a mandau to pair with twash and AC rudras/mercys are hawt. So i guess 5/5 AC, 1feint, 1AS...3 in...um...roll some dice? 5 aura steal(absorbs can be extremely useful sometimes), 4feint, 1AC. Maxing AC is pretty much terrible, feint is generally going to max your acc on anything anyways.
Ocelomeh Headpiece +1
Cuauhtli Headpiece +1 or otherwise for Evis? For DNC and THF please, thanks. Also; for THF Evis feet, AF2+2 or what's the best piece for that now a days? Valefor.Shinzagoon

Augmented heca head and feet is the way to go for thf's evis set. Idk about dnc, but considering they miss a lot of the attack options thf has, i'd say cuau head should win most times. Still, oce(+toci) it's so very close that i would be satisfied with inv+1. Oce is the best rudra head for both jobs. Well, this is certainly true for thf.
Oh i still don't know how athos' set bonus comes into play (don't even know how much is it). Might replace heca for thf, but it's unlikely. ninja edit there~
Yeah i forgot about the damage bonus you get on climactic flourish. Hmmm the set bonus is interesting...But for thf we simply have too many isolated great options that i imagine athos as nothing but a side grade. An option for those that didn't work on their hecas i guess. whats a better offhand dagger?, triplus or twilight
just got lux pugio today and dont even have thf lvled, but I have twilight knife, was just gona use those x2...but. I thought Twilight would be better then triplus? but no 1 is mentioning it Because both have sucked since 90 cap.
then what would be a better tp gain dagger then? >_>
guess I have to wait to get a good answer >_<
How about for someone who doesn't give a crap about doing trials for a job that already sucks and wants to know what would do best out of what he already has... off hand triplus or twilight?
Fenrir.Kut said: » How about for someone who doesn't give a crap about doing trials for a job that already sucks and wants to know what would do best out of what he already has... off hand triplus or twilight? {yes Please} Well, I guess it depends a lot on what you actually want to do on THF and in what situations you find yourself in.
STR dagger is usually a good thing for increasing dmg during TP- and WS-phase. However, that's not always desired. Seeing as I answered his question, I don't see what he's bitching about.
dont think offhand str dagger will help me much, since Im an elvaan with 12str merits >_>
Just wanting to know which is better triplus or twilight, and why..... If you don't care to do trials then this is all you should focus on doing for your thf.
Triplus, lower delay getting you better WS frequency due to more chances at DA/TA in the same amount of time. The 3 QA is about equal to 9 DA, and Triplus's 3 TA is equal to about 6. But triplus also isn't slightly devaluing your traits and TA gear.
get a str dagger. |
