I don't think anyone said that TH proc rate varies with damage done via SA/TA Sagi, or at least from what I can see.

I usually do the same and swoop away from the mob to avoid hitting it when changing positions, but I usually go thf to things like salvage where time is really important, so we can't stall the fights for too long :<

I hate when people are killing things via SATA only. Drives me batty. Though I totally did it on Behemoth when there were JPs waiting. DOUBLE STANDARDS

Dude
for nq kings just get all the *** thfs you can out there
I got a total of 7 thfs out there and even a 45 thf just so we could get the TH as high as we could. SA or TA only, you turn once you do either, we had mules positioned on both ends of the mob for guarunteed TA. It was glorious.

Yeah, obviously the chance lessens with subsequent TH procs, highest we got without the moogle buff on nq kings outside was 11 on an adamantoise.

Oh I wasn't trying to say it varies with damage done, only that it has a much higher proc rate via SA/TA. I was attempting to weigh up the option of striking once via SA/TA (which could do anything from 5-10x the damage of an auto attack round) versus striking several times with auto attack with a much lower proc chance each strike. It's difficult to put into words >_<;

1 SA/TA strike (1x high proc chance) ~ 500-1k damage (depending on mods/weapons/mob etc).

10 standard attacks (10x low proc chance) would do roughly the same damage.

This only becomes a consideration if the mob has a fairly limited HP and you need to keep it alive.

We always get TH12 on behemoth without moogle buff. We just use two thieves. Not sure I'd recommend using any more on a mob like behemoth. His hp is very low and people tend not to turn around fast enough. More people wacking on it = it dies faster = less chance for TH increase.

No reason to dual wield so unequip the offhand dagger, and just main hand something crappy. Your SA/TA should not do anywhere near 500+ if you're really serious about capping TH. You might as well proc it naked.

Well, TH has a significantly higher chance of proccing with TA/SA, even more so with AF3+1/2 hands.

WHERE IS THIS RUMOR COMING FROM!?!?1?! ITS EVERYWHERE!!11!!

Test? Someone? Anyone? Or is everyone just parroting something they heard from someone, somewhere, sometime?

If I had to guess, too many people are attributing TH upgrades on SA/TA to the +1/+2 gloves even though SE specifically stated that TH has a greater chance to upgrade when SA/TA lands. That, and the people propagating the rumor base their 'observations' off eyeballing the log. :/

Triplus + rapidus is better than any Yataghan combo. If you are into easily obtained, twilight+triplus is the best there is. Yataghan is not worth the effort at all.

While I'm sure it's nice not to have to rely on mages to be competent I'd rather have them do their job and use this instead for my offhand:

I just want Oynos for Solo purposes, ya.

Also, it's the Gnat VWNM in Crawler's Nest.

^ For me.

Want the haste dagger for when I'm solo and can't normally get haste.

Its a magnificent weapon for that reason alone, Plus it comes from a pretty manageable VWNM, Hopefully i can get it soon. Now the real question.

Oynos/Trip or Twi/Oyn

I'm leaning toward Oynos/Trip.
