The DS port Phantasy Star Zero actually was about the closest I have got to the same type of feeling.
Whenever I played PSU it just made me want to play PSO, but I actually enjoyed Zero on its own.

They actually banned people in PSU for duping?
I dont think anybody played PSO without duping.. or atlesat accepting duped items:P
I got a 1hr ban once because I had a duped item.. xD that was the worst I ever saw regarding that:P

They were pretty strict with banning on PSO:BB too. I got banned twice.

They heard you was mad racist, yo.

But srsly, Cast techers seemed pointless to me. I mean, you can create 4 *** characters - why purposely gimp yourself, you know? I wouldn't kick people because of it, but I'd question their logic.
