id bet my buffalo nickel you know quite a few people that smoke pot and just dont realize. people you would probably consider friends, perhaps family members that ARENT failures even..

few guys i knew back in high school- they were 4.3 gpa, violin since age of 4, extra curricular's out the ***, etc. typical potential ivy league bound kid type shits..
they all get in an alcohol related, high speed car accident driving on the highway one night our junior year. driver and 2 back seat passengers lived with minor injuries while the side seat passenger flew through the windshield and died. all 4 lives needless to say "ruined by alchohol".. which, not to mention, you are able to buy anywhere just about anytime.. you should consider your cousin lucky he still has all the opportunity in the world to change still, and maybe even help do something about it. it would definitely be a lot more productive than just complaining about non sense.

It is true that if they were to legalize it some people would have no idea how to handle it, I've seen many a dumb Brit/Yank come into a coffee shops gloating about how much he can smoke and then... WOW I have some stories about what the end up looking like lmao.

Generally the people in here who are anti-pot don't know any/many pot smokers as the people who do well.. obviously know others, having said that they can't really comment on this "Kills brain cells" too much, I mean I've smoked for a very long time and I must say that I'm not brain dead, I basically run a michelin star rated restaurant so I must not be brain dead right?

I know people who have smoked pot for 40yrs lol and hold very respectable jobs too and you would have never known they do smoke.

Anyway, the point of this thread is kinda stupid as it isn't going to help the cause in any way whatsoever, if some people think they're smarter and better than the others then more power to them, it won't effect my life in any way.

I know plenty of people that smoke pot. They're always broke and can't find a decent job, because they always fail their piss tests. They're lazy, self serving ***. I have yet to meet an American pot smoker that isn't.

So pardon me for my bias against your "extra curricular" activity, but it's become such a stigma in this country that it's the "cool" thing to do and people take it too far. I don't enjoy the fact that the taxes coming out of my paycheck goes to welfare to support these people simply because they can't put the joint down and become a regular member of society.

Yes, I smoked pot. Then I grew up and realized I couldn't get a decent job without passing a piss test. Excuse me for having my priorities in order.

Look up the medical marijuana wiki. It has plenty of studies linked to it, legit ones. Many of them showing that smoking marijuana actually reduces the size of some tumors, and PREVENTS lung cancer. Just because its wiki doesnt mean its wrong, it has plenty of references.

Actually, I am quite anti-pot, yet I know a fair number (12 off the top of my head, about 50% of all pot smokers I know) who are very productive members of society, or that are at least acceptably competent and hard-working. While this percentage might be lower than the non-smoking population, that's not my problem with cannabis.

In fact, I don't have a problem with cannabis. It's just that's it has been permanently associated with "hip" artsy hedonistic douchebags. If it weren't for that, I'd likely not care at all.

Oh yeah, 95% of the "bad things" people are talking about are directly related to the fact its banned. If it wasnt banned, they could get those jobs, if it wasnt banned they wouldnt be broke (it wouldnt be so damn expensive) if it wasnt banned, they could do what they want and not have any negetive side effects (the law).

I agree that it should be legalized, but I think it should be done right (regulations and whatnot).

The idea that someone can't be an ambitious person and smoke pot and nonsense. My ex is an insurance agent who is getting ready to start his own business, and he is a major pothead. He simply doesn't allow it to interfere with his goals.

People who do are going to do that with anything, not just pot. Some people have addictive personalities...are we supposed to prohibit everything because SOME people might abuse it? Well, then there goes sugar, alcohol, fat, caffeine, television, video games, computers, and nicotine. Gosh, what a wonderful world that would be. Let's just all sit and stare at the wall and eat rice cakes because some people can't control themselves...
