Also, lolsportsball Controversial figure on and off the pitch. Famously known for the "Hand Of God", when he used his hand to score a goal against England in a huge World Cap match and claimed it was his head. It was given by the referee, and this was decades before VAR, but replaying the goal it's obvious to anyone.
Outside of that, he's probably Argentina's greatest striker and most famous football (soccer) player of all time. Off the pitch, he was known for his outlandish comments which were often insulting, but he still somehow kept himself in the media. How? Well, maybe god helped. Great footballer in his day. As a person? Eh. To the Argentinians though, he will always be a legend. Despite having his personal problems, being drug abuse the worst, he will surely be always remembered in football by his achievement (1 world cup, 1 2nd place, two italian championship, all of those with average teams) and by his incredible skills.
His flaws will be there, though, to always remember that despite heroic achievements, he also had all weakeneses the human being has. Leviathan.Draugo

He was an incredible football player but he was best known for cheating.
Man, I don't watch football but this guy was like one of the last breed of technical players. Nowdays, everyone is like strength, speed and power. It's okay but I really want see the day some short shrimp can pass 5 players a score a goal on the world stage.

My childhood football hero. He was an exceptionally-gifted football legend, considered the best in history by most people. He was unmatched in his prime. And despite going on self-destructive behavior numerous times (resulting in a shortened career), he had enough achievements under his belt (he would carry his weak teams to championship all by himself) to make every promising new star live under his shadow. A sad day for lovers of the game around the world indeed.

It's shocking to me how many people die from heart attacks, even people with a lot of money to get regular health checks.
A lot of formerly fit people even, I don't know if it implies drug usage or just bad health care but it's sad all the same. RadialArcana said: » It's shocking to me how many people die from heart attacks |
