I grew up watching him. Truly sad. He'll be missed, but definitely remembered!

just saw there are still several episodes that Trebek filmed already, including his last day in studio on Oct. 29. Plan is to air that final episode on Christmas Day.

I don't think anybody can deny the cultural impact his game show had on basically every kind of media. The "I'll take ____ for $XX, Alex", "What is ____", and the melody that plays during the Final Jeopardy question-answering period are ingrained in Western Culture in a very deep way. So deep that any of them can be mentioned/used and basically any person that I know or have ever known would understand the meaning or context of their use.

This is sad, but not unexpected. People that were old when we were young are now very old. Math and all that.
