I WANT. U GUIZ WANT? It's a book-turned-movie, Korpg. Cai you didn't give a wiki link to the movie. That's not good enough for K-Fedup.
I won't buy you that stuff cause you have enough hump toys. My wife and I are checking this out on Friday! We are totally stoked for it! I can't wait to see what Spike Jonze has done with this story; it was my absolute favorite as a child. *Squeeeee*
Well I'm not gonna go see it. I'll send my wife and kid to go see it since they both want to. I don't want the movie to ruin my imagination of what the story is.
What was the book about?
Is it a children's book (based by the character you have shown) or is it something "Harry Potter"-ish. Rictor said: My wife and I are checking this out on Friday! We are totally stoked for it! So (serious question, not an attempt to "troll" or whatnot) what is this newfound obsession with Hollywood making movies about kids' books?
Need MOAR of this!
@K-Fedup It's the same reason they moved to comic books for movie ideas. Rictor said: My wife and I are checking this out on Friday! We are totally stoked for it! I never really read the book, I'm sure a teacher read it too me in class before but I never took an interest. I do have an internet name for a reason... And comic books make great movies only when the comic book is action orientented. I was forced to watch "Horton Hears a Who" during the summer because my nephew wanted me to watch it with him, and I disliked the movie because of its many political statements in it. I just hope that this movie doesn't do the same. Making movies out of kids' books is a way to get new audiences (kids) involved in what used to be a market for an older demographic(nostalgia) so that kids and parents alike will squee with glee at the opening, only to walk away heart-broken and a little more dead inside after seeing how hollywood has bastardized these gems of our youth. I have faith in Jonze though. I hope it's not misplaced.
Rowland said: I have one word for all of your children's books. Tikki-tikki-tembo-no-sa-rembo-chari-bari-ruchi-pip-peri-pembo. Similar to what Rictor said, our generation that loved the book as kids is now the main movie-going demographic so it makes sense that they'd come back with something like this. I wouldn't mind a live-action Little Nemo in Slumberland right about now, though! Just don't watch Disney movies if you don't like hidden messages and my apology, Korpg.
Best book of all time! The Old Lady who Ate a Fly! I watched the preview, it looks ok.
Noway! CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM. No, that is not the opening theme to a porn, but another awesome kid's book. lol
Best Children's book to make into a movie: Call of the Wild.
Shows how a young teen survives in the wild using nothing but brains to do so. Korpg said: Best Children's book to make into a movie: Call of the Wild. Edit: wiki Hatchet was an awsome book.
They already made a movie of it though. Goosebump series was fun to read.
Alyria said: Goosebump series was fun to read. FAIL! Goosebumps is nothing more than a Stephen King for youngsters. Shared no moral enlightment. I played the little brother in a play when I was little XD. anyway, the song in the trailer's been stuck my head for a while now too and it makes me want to see it even more The Hatchet = Call of the Wild
Both were written by the same author, they renamed it to "The Hatchet" after the first edition. Edit: I didn't know that they made it into a movie. Wiki doesn't say anything about it. I didn't even read it after I linked until now. I didn't know it was a movie either. I'll have to see if I can netflix it or download it. |
