Hello peeps,
just sharing an improved experience for in-game music with FFXI. This mod contains tracks from various albums with the following tracklist:

You can easily install the mod by following these two steps:

Code
1. Copy everything in the folder: "...\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI"
2. Click on "YES" when prompted to overwrite the contents

Reminder that you can use this addon:
https://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/53575/xipivot-rom-mods-without-overwriting-originals/

to switch out almost any DAT without the need for overwriting original files.

Mostly any DAT and also all sound effects and bgw files actually.
Thanks for pointing it out Lili, sound overloads were added as a side-feature but are definitely possible.

This is great! For a long time I've wanted to replace some zone BGMs with that of orchestra Distant Worlds versions, especially Ronfaure.

I'm interested in the process behind taking what is essentially a sound file and converting it to a compatible dat file.

It's quite easy, you just need the following tools:

- XiMC
- any MP3 to WAV converter (for ex. Goldwave)
(I'm assuming your source file is a MP3)
