that argument only applies to business, not games. if it would apply to everything then rich people would outsource every move. kinda defeats the purpose of beeing rich if you pay someone else to take care of your free time activities, no?
this is a MMO, the entire genre is built around grinding. if you aren't up for grinding AT ALL and rather buy your way around apademak horns you didn't gain anything. after you got your horns there will be a different objective to grind on and all you do is spending gil/money, it will never end.

i'm not with you on this one. imho games are a attempt to create equal opportunity for everyone participating, disconnected from real life with its own set of rules. the moment you say all grind is work regardless of context you kill the equal opportunity aspect of games.
if you don't like the grind aspect of a game the more sensible thing to do would be voicing your opinion on boards. if nothing changes, quit the game and deny the inventors their income. if enough players feel that way and do the same the devs are forced to tweak and adjust their game till it fits the majorities peoples taste.

you use the phrase "Smart players who have extra in game currency" but what you realy mean is making use of RMT/cheats/bots/exploits/mercing or in your specific example "and do other things on an alt" - pay2win. all of those have the side effect of corrupting the underlying concept of pretty much every game, equality of opportunity.

i'm not very concerned on how people spend their ingame currency as long as they've earned it.
i've been playing different online games for a while now and my personal experience is if it smells like ***, looks like ***and tastes like ***it might as well be ***.
everytime i gave someone the benefit of the doubt that earned a suspicious amount of extra currency and spend time with them, they eventually have a slip up or get comfortable enough with you to admit they use shady methods to attain that extra wealth.
