The production budget of the movie almost never includes the money used to market it. Secondly the gross ticket sales do not cover the cost of the movie nor the additional cost involved in buying tons of seats on opening weekend to inflate the hype (if thats what happened). Whatever the total cost of he movie is (which is unknown) you basically have to double it before you make money on it.
