So I'm torn, do I get it or not? Does it help with crafting? Is it cheating to not have to hit the up key and /lastsynth 500 times?

Camate used windower while he was still employed by SE. Though not while at the office. As such, he never did anything but run around the city at work, lol. That's as much of an endorsement as I will ever see for it.

I only play ffxi as it was intended.. on a pc with 32mb vram,no windower,tako, or clipper and on a dial up connection. Anything more is -cheating- and i wont be apart of it.

Depends on your definition of cheating. If anything not developed officially by SE is considered cheating, then yeah, it would be that.
I know many people who use it vanilla though to play multiple characters on the same computer. Is that cheating? Um... SE can't do it with the the actual POL, so it must be right? /sarcasm + /smh

Apparently I'm a rarity as well, I refuse to use it. Not like I'll take the high ground, trust me. I like human error, makes the game feel better. I don't know if that's right but hope you get the idea.

Gearswap is one of the most egregious forms of "cheating" however you define it. Doesn't matter if you define it as botting, or simply cheating. ToS breaking doesn't have tiers.
