Get a can of compressed air to blow them out.

I won't guarantee you won't have to take the whole thing apart, some laptops there is no other way.

Big performance increase on laptops that are over heating because of that when you clean them out.

they make anti-static approved vacuums as well, some with tiny ends, may be worth looking into.

Depending on the age of the laptop it may be worthwhile to invest in replacing the thermal paste, which obviously requires cracking it open.

Small screws and ribbon cables, it's a ***.

You can cause static and fry the pc with the brushes, not very common though

I vacuum my laptop's fans.

Not while it is on though.

Compressed 'air' is really the standard. Friend had a pretty neat antistatic blower that did some serious work, like a mini-leaf blower, but a bit overkill for consumer maintenance.

99 times out of 100, vacuum probably won't hurt anything, but it's not enough of an efficiency difference to risk it in my opinion.

if you use a vacucm just use one with a metal pipe and ground it.
no way to build up static electricty then

I use an aircompressor though more punch and easier to control.
just a lot of noise though
