I was playing on a sever that was shutdown and migrated to this server. I have been around since Crawlers Nest trains and ground king shenanigans. I've basically been here since the beginning and was part of an old HNM shell that was the first on my old server to kill Tiamat.

T-VT mobs where giving... 200 exp? Dying meant loosing 4000exp? Anyway Servers: Fairy -> Sylph -> Asura, starting sept. 2004 (with some Detox-Breaks ^.- )

Me and the wife been playing since game release and got married same time , so over 15yrs we have been playing!
Yeah, 2012 is not really the “old days”. I’m sure there are plenty here who’ve played since the NA release and are still playing. That’s what I would call the old days. Those in old days remember:
- Bazaaring “outside” to avoid tax (Batallia Downs on Odin I think) - Riding the airship (what’s an airship?) - Running every where if not paying for Tele-Taxi - Getting to 75 was only the beginning of the game I’m sure others can give more examples of the old days that newer players wil never know about. I remember paying 10k for a teleport mea, only to arrive at a chocobo guy that was charging 25k. Every time Faf window was opening, that mea chocobo guy would price gouge. People using aoe spells by mistake and getting darters linked at faf claim was always a kick to watch. Having half of your ls jailed in the middle of a Vrtra battle evoked lots of joy-joy feelings. I was there for the ebody drama. Odin.Godofgods

Hunting turul for Loki’s kaften for a few nights
Late 2004. I started on Seraph.
I remember how happy I was the first time I ran from Valkurm Dunes back to Bastok without dying, because for a lv 10-19, a few gil for sneak and invisible potions was way too rich for my blood. Back then, OP warps were level locked and you could only use the Dunes warp at lv 20. My brother quit the game at level 14 because he kept dying to those 2 bats in the tunnel in the dunes. Also, I remember so many people in starter towns near AH that only a ring of people around you would render. Different characters would pop and depop as you moved. And the npc that took Aht Urgan coins to warp a player back to Jeuno always had tons of people afk around it. Those who didn't know about F8 would lose their minds because they had to tab through 20 - 30 people before the cursor hit the npc. I was cheap and used the guy that warped you outside Jeuno. But it would suck when he got kidnapped after a besieged. Started playing when I was 13 in 2002, 7th grade. This game was supposed to die long ago, but it didn't, so here I am. :(
LONG LIVE CAITSITH!! Early 2005, Seraph.
Garrison was so much fun. i've been playing since i was 13 so almost 14 years haha man it doesnt seem that long though.

What's amusing is you say that, but there was a friend I made playing XI -- well, "friend." I'm not gonna lie; Lew, if you're reading this, you were an annoying taglong at first with a billion questions about EVERYTHING, game-related or otherwise...but you got better -- and he was like 14 at the time I met him (I was around 20-22 (those years are fuzzy), iirc). ...so yeah. Having him posting all his awesome adult adventures on Facebook is sort of amusing to me. Shiva.Fendarin

A *** week? Whaaaa
Uh, I was just referring to a time that was specific to my linkshell. Hence the call out for my linkshell name. I played from 2005 onward starting on Midgardsormr before it merged with Quetz.
Doesn't look like anyone from then still plays though :( No one from old Pandavas, Rzero, Vital Statistics etc around on Quetz still? I miss titan, merging to phoenix was like going from being in a private school to a public school in the ghetto.
started in 03 or 04 whenever ps2 release was. Ive still got my ps2 with the 20gbHDD. Asura.Omgwhy

(Also selling arrows was a money maker as well as silk). Talking of money making, used to make nearly 100k/hr doing wild onion stacks from goblin thugs in outer horutoto ruins. Also bird blood from poison leeches in buburimu before the nerf... |
