Broadly speaking I'm pro-choice.
I have a strong distaste for abortions after a point of potential viability when a C-section would really be of no greater danger than an abortion. But that is a personal belief and not one I'm prepared to force upon anyone else.
But I just don't see the point in another fruitless abortion debate. I reject the "opening it on new grounds" by adding a new condition to the issue, Downs or otherwise.

My question is simple: If killing someone with downs syndrome for the sole purpose of them having downs syndrome then how is aborting a baby for the sole purpose of having downs syndrome not a hate crime?
Feel free to explain how it is a straw man for an argument on abortion because I cannot see how it is. The specific issue of downs syndrome differs massively from choice or other causal factors for abortion.
I have no relatives or friends with downs syndrome. I am asking purely from the perspective of logic and consistency.

In a country where abortion is legal, your reason for having an abortion doesn't matter. It's legal whatever the reason.
