A person's personality shouldn't affect their moderating. I'm an *** but I would follow whatever guidelines an admin gave me as any mod should.

True enough. I deal with a lot of dumb people on a daily basis so I'm used to keeping my erm personality under control when necessary lol.

Mod's job isn't to control people, it is merely to keep them along the guide path that is the sites rules.

I think, one of the key problems, is that we don't have expressed rules.

"Don't be a douchebag" Can go quite far as a rule actually, as being a douchebag can canvass a lot of behavior, also generally keeps people from horribly offending other people and such, keep things casual kinda.

Krapg, if Scragg and Jaerik simply instantly reject everyone that dislikes you then there's not going to be another mod. Also the fact that you consider being a moderator of a forum for an on-line video game as having power that will corrupt is laughable. You place waaaaaay too much importance on these forums and clearly need to take a break (give the rest of us a break too).

I think everyone suggested so far would do absolutely fine as moderator (except Dasva), but it doesn't matter what we think, nor should it. It's all about finding someone who will A: do the job impartially, and B: actually want the job (unlike most of the names suggested. Also as Baelorn said, it doesn't really have anything to do with personality, as long as the person selected is more mature than your average 14 year old boy and knows how to behave in a professional manner.

Also, if I was Alyria I'd be offended at Krapg's suggestion that the power will inevitably corrupt whoever gets the job, as that's suggesting that Alyria (as well as Scragg and Jaerik I guess) are already corrupt. If Alyria was corrupt I'd have been topic banned a lot more than my current total of zero, as I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me, but instead, she acts impartially and topic bans Krapg instead as 90% of the time I'm acting like a douche it's because I'm responding to your ***.

Oh, and the reason you wouldn't get the position even if you wanted it is NOT because you're unpopular, it's because you're a douche and I think most people here would agree that you'd be completely incapable of being impartial and doing your job properly. This also happens to be the reason you're unpopular, but it's the wrong way round.

Actually I have topicbanned you on one thread before Blazza and Korpg only on 2 threads. 2 others also on different threads. And have asked before a few times to stop. So far I haven't done alot of topicban because I tend to feel a dislike in using the topicban. We all should just be mature enough to stop arguing and tearing a thread up from nonsense when a mod has asked to stop. I give plenty chances, but if you continue after I've asked 2 times, then I have to use the topicban.

I like everyone here, I don't have a dislike to anyone, I do tolerate a lot of you but my feelings on a person can't affect my moderating.
