Gates Of Andaron -- Taru Thieves?

Out of curiosity, I checked out one of the banners here on the site just to see what other MMO's are looking like nowadays. I clicked on a banner for "Gates of Andaron" and the first thing that I noticed were the small Tarutaru-like characters.

Seriously, I understand that some companies may take bits and pieces of ideas from other games or stories in order to make their games (after all, FF was loosely based off of Dungeons and Dragons rules and even D&D took most of its ideas from Lord of the Rings)... But Tarus were, for the most part, --our-- characters. This Andaron game looks more like a cheap ripoff of Final Fantasy with bright, colorful graphics reminiscent of WoW.

Thoughts?

Wow... first, third and last pic the purple thing looks like Garuda. Third pic the "Galka" looks like Azul the Cerulean from Dirge. And the last pic looks like the BLM AF hat but blacker. I think they might've ripped off some of our models. :s

Oh I'm going to add on the way races hold staves... WoW holds their staves the same way too. I think it's just a common way to put it so it doesn't clip with the figure. But the rest is a ripoff I think :s

#3: is that a statue of the shadow lord in the background?

Oh right, some people don't value their computers...

Looks kinda like a shiva/garuda hybrid.

Trust me, I value my box, but I doubt that a banner ad on this site will kill my computer.

That's like saying any add on an FFXI website is completely okay and wouldn't harm anything you own - Oh wait... The mass RMT hackings?

And this website isn't the point, if you're seeing adds on this site, then you obviously aren't using the right internet protection - meaning any other website you go on, you're vulnerable.

Kind of looks similar. Dunno what to make of it. Never heard of that game and after this thread I'll never hear of it again I'm sure.
