Windower Not Enabled.. Any Ideas?

New to windower... everytime I launch it keeps launching POL and not enabling through window mode... I have unistalled and installed again a couple of times but still nothing... any ideas on how to fix this? running on windows 7

Sounds to me like you're starting the game by clicking on POL and not on Windower launcher?

im launching through the windower but it keeps opening up POL..

Err - yeah it's supposed to do that, it'll say "PlayOnline Viewer ver. 1.blahblah - Windower enabled" if you've installed Windower correctly and if you're starting it correctly.

reinstalling again...

Right click Windower and click Run as Administrator. If you don't Windower can't hook to Play Online and Play Online opens instead.

yea I did that and i keep getting the same results.. POL keeps opening instead of windower

Are you clicking a shortcut of the windower icon. I had this problem a little while back. For some reason, it wouldn't run windower enabled with a shortcut. I had to drag the original icon to my desktop. Or something along those lines.

Disable UAC if you haven't already.
Also make sure your FFXI directory is within the same hard drive as where the windower is located as well.
Also if you just freshly installed FFXI, you may need to log in without the windower once to enable certain registry entries; which the windower may or may not rely on.

1. windower is supposed to open playonline...

2. if you want to open the windower gui then you have to click on the windower gui.

there's a launcher.exe

and a launcher_gui.exe

the later opens up the gui for windower, it's not really needed though if you have your settings saved.

thanks all. i got it now.. i had to move the folder for some strange reason

ok i got it now.. but here is my next issue.. when i download the spellcast and autoexec. plugins and begin to start windower again it says "Resourses failed to read areas" on the screen where they talk about the crystal, right before i get to the character selection screen
